Assam JLEE 2026: Eligibility, Syllabus, Question Paper, Pattern, Result, Scorecard, Counselling

JLEE is conducted by the Assam Science and Technology University for admissions to the third semester of BE programme. It is a gateway for admissions to the Engineering Colleges in Assam under the lateral entry scheme. These colleges include Assam Engineering College, Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat Institute of Science and Technology, and Bineswar Brahma Engineering College. The candidates will be selected on the basis of the merit list, which is prepared on the basis of the total marks secured in the admission test.

Aspirants seeking admission into the 2nd year of BTech programmes offered under lateral entry scheme at colleges in Assam must fulfill the minimum eligibility norms as stated below: 

• The candidates must have a recognised diploma of a minimum of 3 years duration from Polytechnic Institutions of Assam under State Council of Technical Education.
• They must get a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.
• Also, the candidates should be permanent residents of Assam.
• The candidates appearing their final year exams are also eligible to appear for the JLEE exam. The only condition is that they have to produce the original mark sheets and certificates at the time of admission.

Step 1: Fill Application Form

Aspirants need to fill application form for JLEE online from official website. Candidates can refer to steps given below to complete registration. 

• The candidates need to first register online on official website and before filling application form, they should go through the eligibility criteria to avoid those last-minute hassles.
• After successful registration, candidates will then have to fill online application form with required details.
• Also, please keep DD of the prescribed application form ready before filling in application as it will be required at the time of application submission.
• So, after candidate has filled application form, save the form and upload the scanned copy of a recent passport-size photograph of the applicant and their signature.
• After uploading, save and submit.
• Preserve the hard copy of the application submission for further submission. It has to be sent through the post, along with the DD of the application fee.
• The DD will be drawn in favour of The Director, Technical Education Assam, payable at State Bank of India, Kahilipara Branch-Guwahati.

Step 2: Appear for Assam JLEE 2024 Entrance Test

Students need to appear for the entrance exam on the scheduled dates. Aspirants are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour before the commencement of the exam.

For all UG courses, the university conducts a written entrance exam.

Step 3: Check Assam JLEE 2024 Exam Result

The University declares the results for UG entrance exams on the respective official website. The varsity would also display the result on the notice boards and on the official website. 

Step 4: Class Commencement 

The university will commence with the classes after the announcement of JLEE 2024 results. 

Assam Science and Technology University will release the JLEE exam pattern along with the official notification. Applicants who will appear in the exam are advised to refer to the JLEE 2024 exam pattern for their preparations.
