The Consortium of NLUs prescribes CLAT eligibility criteria 2027 for five-year LLB, and LLM courses for academic requirements, minimum marks, and age limit. Read the CLAT exam eligibility requirements here.

CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2027: The Consortium has published the CLAT Notification. The Consortium of NLUs will conduct the CLAT 2027 Exam on December 6, 2026. Candidates must note that the Consortium will first published the notification containing all important information, such as CLAT Exam Dates 2027, syllabus, pattern, etc.

The registration process for CLAT will begin on August 3, 2026. The CLAT Application Process will continue until October 31, 2026. Candidates must understand the CLAT exam eligibility criteria for undergraduate and postgraduate courses before filling out the application form. The application process is completely online. The CLAT Exam will be held for both undergraduate and postgraduate courses on the same day.

CLAT UG 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet CLAT eligibility criteria for undergraduate (UG ) level law courses as mentioned below. The Consortium will cancel the application at any stage if all the required CLAT UG 2027 Eligibility Criteria are not met.

  • Candidates should clear Class 12 with a minimum 45 per cent aggregate (applicable for candidates belonging to General/ Other Backward Class/ Person with Disability/ Non-Resident Indian/ Person of Indian Origin/ Overseas Citizen of India
  • Candidates should clear Class 12 with a minimum 40 per cent aggregate (applicable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category)
  • Candidates appearing for their Class 12 board examinations in March/April are also eligible to apply for CLAT 2027 exam.

Q:   Can I get NLU if my CLAT Rank is 1500?
A: 

Yes, with a CLAT Rank of 1500, you have a very good chance of getting into several good NLUs. Some fo the NLU where your chances are high are NLIU Bhopal or NLU Jodhpur.

Q:   How many merit list will be released by the Consortium?
A: 

The Consortium will release atleast five merit list to complete the admission process through CLAT Score. However, the number of merit list might change in case of some discrepancy in answer key or result.

Q:   Can I get admission in NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam?
A: 

No you can not get admission to 26 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam. 

Q:   What factors are considered while deciding the CLAT Cutoff?
A: 

The CLAT Cutoff is decided by following factors

  • Number of Applicants
  • Seat Availability
  • Reservation Policy
  • Domicile Quota

CLAT PG 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must ensure that they meet the required CLAT PG Eligibility Criteria. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for CLAT PG 2027 below.

  • Candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI category should possess an LLB or equivalent degree with minimum 50 per cent aggregate
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ ST category should possess an LLB or equivalent degree with minimum of 45 per cent aggregate
  • Candidates appearing for the final year examination of their qualifying degree are also eligible to apply for CLAT

NLUs Admission Criteria 2027

In order to get admission in NLUs, it is mandatory to appear for the CLAT Exam. Candidates must fulfill the NLU admission criteria to get considered. Only those candidates who will meet the CLAT Cutoff Score 2027 will be eligible to appear in the counselling process. Each NLU has its own CLAT Reservation Policy. Those who are filling the admission under the domicile category must ensure they do have all the required documents. All the documents will be verified during the counselling process.

The CLAT cutoff means the minimum rank or score required to get admission into a National Law University (NLU). Candidates must get the cutoff to participate in the counselling process.

In order to know if you are eligible or not check the official notification and the eligibility criteria. There is no other way to check the the eligibility criteria.  Do not fill the form without checking the eligibility criteria. 

Q:   How many times I can appear for CLAT Exam?

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time.

How to apply for CLAT Exam 2027?

Candidates must check all the important steps before filling the CLAT Application Form. To begin with candidates will have to register on the Consortium website, complete the application form, upload the documents and pay the fees. To understand it properly check below

    • Enter your name, mobile number & email ID
    • Verify your mobile number using the OTP sent to your phone
    • Create password
  • Personal & Academic Details
    • Re-login using your registered mobile number & password
    • Choose the course
    • Fill your information like Name, DOB, Parents' name
    • Select category
    • Enter your communication details
    • Fill your academic details
  • Test Centers and Reservations
  • Select your choice of test center locations
  • Enter your state domicile to claim state reservation
  • Upload documents
    • Candidates will have to upload certain documents in scanned format. Check the list here
    • Front-facing passport-size recent photograph with a plain background
    • Signature (black/blue ink on white paper)

No, GLA University, Mathura BA LLB (hons) admission is not based on CLAT-UG scores.

Candidates can only apply for this course by appearing in GLAET and following interview round. 

There is no rule that allows candidates with valid CLAT-UG scores to skip GLAET and appear for PI round directly.

GLA University, Mathura has not mentioned CLAT-UG as an accepted entrance exam for BBA LLB (hons) admission. Only GLAET has been mentioned as the acceptable entrance exam for BBA LLB (hons) course.

Yes, candidates can get admission in BA LLB at Silver Oak University without CLAT. Admission can be offered based on merit in Class 12. Candidates need minimum 45% aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board to be eligible for admission.

No, candidates who fulfill OP Jindal Global University BA LLB (hons) eligibility criteria cannot apply with a CLAT-UG score. This institute only accepts admission based on LNAT-UK entrance exam. No other entrance exams are accepted during admissions form this course.

Yes, CLAT is not compulsory. You can respectfully gain admission by clearing the university's own NMIMS-LAT entrance exam instead. Applications can be submitted directly through the official NMIMS website.
