CLAT 2026 syllabus: On December 7, 2025, the CLAT Exam will be conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Along with the announcement, the Consortium made available the CLAT Syllabus 2026 for both undergraduate and graduate programs. What is CLAT Syllabus 2026?
The CLAT syllabus is published by the CLAT Consortium each year. The CLAT Consortium, the official body that is responsible for conducting CLAT Exam every year, releases the CLAT syllabus. CLAT is important as based on CLAT Score, aspirants get admission to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programs at India's prestigious NLUs and other top law colleges.

The CLAT Syllabus is published by the Consortium. The syllabus has been announced. Candidates who are preparing for the exam must note that there are no changes made in the syllabus so far. Candidates can check the syllabus by visiting the official website. You can only download the PDF from website.
While it is not impossible, it is a really challenging task. To score well, you must start preparing for CLAT at least six months before. It is very important to score well if you are looking forward to getting into good NLU. For top 10 NLU, you at least need to score between 100 to 105 as per past trends.
The CLAT 2027 UG syllabus includes five subjects: English Language, Current Affairs & GK, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. The exam will be for 120 MCQs. Candidates will get 2 hours to complete the exam.

English Language: The English section in CLAT UG 2026 aims to check candidate’s reading and comprehension ability. There will be passage based questions of 400-500 words followed by MCQs. Apart from this, the test paper will also include questions from topics like vocabulary, idioms, grammar, sentence correction, and para jumble.
Current Affairs including General Knowledge: The section focuses on both national and international current affairs. Candidates are advised to prepare topics like awards, landmark judgements, international treaties, history, appointments, polity, government policies, etc.

Legal Reasoning
Given that it has the most weight in CLAT UG 2026, this is the most crucial section of the exam. It doesn't require any prior legal knowledge, so candidates don't need to worry. This section assesses a candidate's capacity to apply legal principles to the scenarios presented in the passage and provide an appropriate response.
Logical Reasoning
The section aims to evaluate the candidate’s analytical and critical thinking ability. It will include topics like arguments and conclusions, syllogisms, logical puzzles, blood relations, analogies, and critical reasoning. To improve accuracy candidates must attempt CLAT Mock Tests.
Quantitative Techniques
The CLAT Mathematics Section includes basic elementary maths; i.e. up to class 10 level. Mostly the section includes case-based questions that requires calculation and data interpretation. The questions come from the topics such as ratios, percentages, averages, time & work, profit & loss, mensuration, and probability.
