National Law Universities are the premier Institutions offering Law Courses in India. Every student who want to pursue career in Law and want to build a strong foundation in Law wants to study in NLUs. They form a Consortium to carry out all the formalities for the admission process for NLUs. It conducts the Common Law Admission Test nationwide to select the candidates for admission to the NLUs. Let us see the fee structure and other facilities offered by the National Law Universities.
NLUs Fee Structure: There are 26 National Law Universities offering different Integrated Law undergraduate courses. Students aspire to get admission into the NLUs due to various factors. Some of them are the facilities, faculty, exposure, placement and the like. All these NLUs have formed a Consortium to conduct their Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to select candidates for admission to their UG and PG Courses. The number of UG seats available through CLAT is around 3,500 and the number of applicants remains over 90,000. This culminates in fierce competition in the CLAT exam every year.
Candidates who clear the CLAT get a call from the NLUs based on their rank, category, NLU preference and domicile factors. Each NLU releases its prospectus/information brochure and mentions its fee structure. The fee of NLUs is an important factor which plays a role while selecting and preferring the NLUs in the priority list. For NLU Delhi, admission is through AILET. Once you clear the exam, you need to appear for the counselling process. The fee for undergraduate courses at NLUs ranges from INR 5 Lakh to INR 5.6 Lakh, and for postgraduate courses, the fee can same. NLU Fees 2027 - Components
The admission fee of NLUs comprises various components i.e. annual fees, one-time fees as well as deposits as under:
- Tuition fee
- Admission fee
- Infrastructure and development fee
- Library, ID card, examination fee, basic amenities fees
- Sports, gym, medical, internet, electricity, moot court charges
- Hostel facilities, mess deposit

Commonly asked questions
Solving mock test helps candidates to understand the exam pattern and also the sections they are lagging behind. With this they can rework on those section where they are scoring low. CLAT mock test also helps candidates to understand the time based prepration to solve the question paper on exam day.
CLAT Exam Analysis helps those who have appeared for the exam and those who are preparing for next session. The analysis helps candidates to know the type of questions asked, the difficulty level and how to attempt the paper.
According to the CLAT exam pattern, there will be no deduction of marks for unanswered questions. Such questions will not be taken into consideration while calculating the total marks of a candidate. Hence, if candidates are not sure about the answer of a question, it is better to leave it unattempted rather than doing a guess work, to avoid negative marking.
In CLAT Exam there will be 120 questions. The exam paper will be in MCQ format. Candidates will get 120 minutes to complete the paper. Since there is a negative marking candidates must attempt carefully.

No you don't need to memorise every section. Focus on important concepts key provisions definitions and CLAT style application questions. Understanding legal principles is more important than memorising section numbers.

No, both are different exams, but both are conducted nationwide. CUET LLB will be conducted by NTA, while CLAT 2027 will be conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities.
