NMAT is a speed-based test; test-takers must solve all the questions within a certain time limit. Although the number of questions has been reduced, the onus of time management to crack the exam is still there. Reading Comprehension area of Language Skills, for example, is a lengthy section.. To cover RC questions quickly, increase the comprehension ability of passages by improving your reading habit. Read various kinds of business journals, current affairs and English novels. Practice online grammar quizzes and practice solving jumbled paragraphs to prepare for Language Skills section of NMAT exam. There will be 36 questions in this section. Test takers need to solve them within 28 minutes. Hence, time management is an important factor here.
In the Quantitative Skills section, the questions may not be extremely tricky. However, if you lack the ability of mental calculation, you are bound to struggle in answering the questions. Thus, work on learning shortcut tricks and formula to solve the questions from HCM-LCM, Arithmetic Progression, Mensuration, Bar Chart, Pie Chart and others. Learn to analyse the usage of the right formula to solve problems. This is possible only through a regular practice of the topic-wise questions. You must practice various types of questions to figure out the shortcut techniques. There will be 36 questions in this section as well. Test takers need to solve it within 52 minutes. Hence, utilise the NMAT preparation period to figure out all these aspects well in advance and solve questions by applying smart approaches on the test day.
In the Logical Reasoning section of the NMAT exam, the questions mainly test test-takers' analytical power. This skill cannot be developed in a day and is a matter of regular practice. To acquire analytical skill, you need to build conceptual knowledge and create Venn Diagrams to logically approach in solving syllogism-based questions. To solve questions from Verbal Reasoning section with 100 per cent accuracy, you must have a stronghold on word power. Here again, like language skills, it is recommended to increase the reading habit.
Second Month
After completing NMAT syllabus in the first month, devote the second month of NMAT preparation in building speed and accuracy in solving questions. This is possible by taking NMAT mock tests. Spend three hours daily in solving mock tests or sample questions and analysing individual performance. While attempting NMAT mock tests, analyse if the fundamentals are clear to you. If not, go back to the topic and study again.
Practice various types of questions from Quantitative Ability, Language Skills and Logical Reasoning in NMAT sample papers. Figure out the weaker areas and at the same time keep revising individual strengths.
Third Month
In the last month before NMAT exam, it is all about revision that plays a decisive role in making the three month-NMAT preparation plan effective. Focus on revising all the topics with special focus on your weak points without a miss to be prepared for the NMAT exam day. Avoid studying any new topic in the last month as it can cause unnecessary panic.
In the NMAT 2025 preparation period, analysing the errors and rectifying them quickly is possible until the test day. While practising sample questions, if you find that you are getting stuck on a similar kind of question repeatedly, list down those questions. Discuss such problem among friends or with your mentor to know if there is an alternative way to solve them. Read the theoretical part, create short notes and attempt mocks of various levels after completing the topics.
Lastly, keep a positive frame of mind during NMAT preparation and keep a fine balance between effectiveness (accuracy) and efficiency (speed). All the best.

Divide your six months into three focused phases. Allot three months to thoroughly cover the NMAT syllabus. Dedicate two months to practice a minimum of 30 mock tests, and use the final month to revise formulas and concepts
