SNAP 2026 syllabus has been prescribed by the SIU keeping in mind the fundamental skills required to excel in the field of management, be it product, marketing, data analysis, sales or finance, English communication, quantitative aptitude, data interpretation and reasoning are key to problem solving.

SNAP 2026 Syllabus - SIU conducts SNAP exam for admission to its MBA programmes offered at 16 constituent institutes. SNAP 2026 will be conducted in December and preparation for it should start latest by July. Those planning to appear for the exam, must check the syllabus before making a preparation plan. Each topic will require deep diving so it is essential to understand the requirement before taking the plunge. We have shared here SNAP 2026 syllabus in detail with recommended books.

SNAP 2026 will be conducted on three days and candidates can take upto 2 attempts. The exam session are conducted a week apart and best of all attempts will be taken into consideration for admission. So as you prepare for the exam, keep in mind this provision.

SNAP 2026 Syllabus Highlights

All the questions in SNAP are MCQ based. Earlier this exam used to have TITA questions, but since 2020, only MCQs are seen in the question paper. Check below sectional break up and SNAP difficulty level.

Q:   What is a good score in SNAP?
A: 

A good attempt of around 80 per cent of questions with 85-90 per cent accuracy is considered good score in SNAP. The SNAP exam has 60 questions only, so the number of attempts considered good are 40-45. Candidates must aim to solve a good number of questions in every section of SNAP, so that their overall score is good and they have a better chance of getting selected for admission. If you do not clear the SNAP cut off may not be eligible for admission to MBA programmers offered by SIU institutes. Meeting the minimum cut off is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for the Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Thus, when preparing for SNAP, keep in mind a target score. The SNAP cut offs are lower for Reserved category candidates.

Q:   I am a fresher. Which SNAP book should I refer to for Quantitative Aptitude preparation?
A: 

Freshers should start Quantitative Aptitude preparation with NCERT Mathematics books of Class 9 and 10 for getting fundamental understanding of the topics and concepts. Once they have grasped the concepts of Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Geometry and other topics of Arithmetic, then move on to books with advanced level of Quantitative Aptitude topics. Arun Sharma’s books on preparation for Quantitative Aptitude (also VARC and DILR books) are highly recommended as they are exhaustive and contain test papers of various difficulty levels. With the help of Arun Sharma books, you can understand the concepts and learn application to different type of Mathematical problems. In addition to that, you should refer to other Quant books and sample papers.

Q:   How is SNAP final merit list prepared?
A: 

SNAP final merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate's entrance exam score, academic profile, work profile and GE-PI performance.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of SNAP question paper?
A: 

SNAP is one of the few MBA entrance exams which is easy in terms of difficulty level. It is much easier The number of questions, as well as the exam duration are less that than other MBA entrance exams. The type of questions asked in SNAP as also pretty straightforward.

Moreover, SNAP exam is held thrice for candidates to repeat attempts, which allows candidates to improve their score if they want to. The SNAP syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exam and there are no questions on Reading Comprehension or Data Sufficiency. This makes the SNAP exam much easier to crack than other exams.

Since 2020, the exam is conducted for only 60 minutes and the total number of questions asked is also 60. The first section of SNAP question paper is General English, the second section is Analytical & Logical Reasoning and the third section is Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.

SNAP Quants questions are usually easy and doable. The single Data Interpretation set can however be time consuming. The dominant topics is Arithmetic so the focus should be on it.

SNAP total marks is 60 so 40 to 45 marks can be considered a good score. It will convert into about 97-98 percentile. So, it the exam, candidates must aim to attempt 40 to 45 questions correctly.

Yes, SNAP is conducted in online mode at designated test centres. Candidates have to take the test on a computer system and use only the mouse cursor to key in the answers.

Yes, you should prepare for SNAP separately, especially with regard to sample question and mock test practice. Even if you don't cover the syllabus separately, practice SNAP mock test specifically.

Yes, if you are not confident of self study, do take coaching. It is also necessary for complete guidance and periodical analysis of progress and that whether your preparation is going in the right direction or not.

The question papers of all SNAP sessions are not same. In every attempt and slot, candidates get a different set of questions. Sectional break up and marking scheme are the same for all though.

About 20-30 full-length and sectional mocks will be enough for you to crack SNAP exam with high scores. However, make sure you analyse every mock performance and learn from it.

Yes, six months are enough to prepare for SNAP exam. Divide six months into two parts; first three months for syllabus coverage and last three months for mock test practice and revision.

Yes, three months can be enough to prepare for SNAP, if you have appeared for it earlier or as simultaneously preparing for CAT, XAT and other exams. But if you are planning to appear for SNAP for the first time and not preparing for other MBA entrances, then you should devote atleast 6 months.

No, only studying the SNAP books will not be enough for preparation. You will have to practice sample questions, mock tests and previous years' questions too.
