How to prepare Analytical Reasoning for TANCET 2026: Quick Tips
Pay attention to details: Candidates should read the given information very carefully and should not miss out on the smallest details. A simple ‘must be’ or ‘could be’ can change your answer. While reading an Analytical Reasoning question, candidates should be observant enough to distinguish between possible and definite outcomes under a given situation. One can also proceed towards the right answer by eliminating wrong answers.
Never assume on your own: The key to arrive at an accurate answer in the Analytical Reasoning section is never to assume or use information not provided in the question. Every conclusion should be derived only on the basis of the given set of information. The purpose of this section is not to probe your knowledge on the subject, it is only to assess how well you can interpret a given set of data and derive the required information from it.
Stay Calm: In TANCET, the Analytical Reasoning section could spring some surprises for aspirants. Sometimes, a candidate spends a good amount of time on a question and fails to get an answer. Candidates often get into full-blown panic mode under such circumstances and waste more of their precious time. Candidates should approach every question with a calm mind. They should set a time limit for every problem and should move to other questions accordingly.
Practice Sectional Mock-Tests: The only way to improve score in the Analytical Reasoning section is by persistently working on it. So, practice as many TANCET mock tests and sample questions as you can. As the candidate comes across different problems, their analytical skills will improve. Employing specific approaches to specific setup and question types will culminate in more fluency and accuracy. Candidates could also solve previous year TANCET question papers to understand the Analytical Reasoning section better.
Focus on Accuracy: While solving questions on seating arrangements, set based games and rankings, candidates should focus on accuracy. If you get a seating arrangement wrong, it is very likely, all the five answers related to that topic will also be wrong. Aspirants need to proceed methodically while answering such questions.
