Applicants can check their GATE cutoff 2026 mark on the official page. However, no credentials will be required to access the minimum qualifying mark. The process to check GATE exam cutoff can be checked below -

NOTE:

• For top NIT admission, a GATE score of 650 - 750 can be safe. On the other hand, for mid-tier NITs, a GATE score of 500 - 600 will be required, and for new NITs, GATE -score between 400 to 500 will be required.
• For top IITs, a GATE score of 700 to 800 will be required, depending on branch/discipline. On the other hand, for new IITs, a GATE score between 500 - 600 will be required. 

What is GATE Acceptance Rate?

The GATE acceptance rate usually stays around 15 to 18% every year. Every year, around 6 to 7 lakh candidates appear for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, out of which around 1.2 to 1.5 lakh candidates qualify GATE exam.

For NITs, the GATE score ranges from 800 to 850 for core branches like CSE, ME, CE, and EC. CCMT is responsible for MTech admission at NITs. The highest cutoff for NIT MTech admission typically ranges from 800 to 850 every year, and the lowest cutoff ranges from 350 to 500.
