- Based on the past year trends, it is being noticed that the 2023 paper was relatively easier compared to other years. Hence, there was a higher qualifying mark of 29.9 that year.

- While these are qualifying marks, official GATE reports indicate that students aiming for top IITs usually need to double or triple these marks to stand a chance.

If you are seeking admission in NIT Surathkal MTech, then GATE is mandatory. Students applying for non-MTech programmes do not need to appear for GATE. For M.Tech however, GATE followed by the centralised counselling is mandatory.
