- The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
- The JEE Main 2026 registrations for session 2 started for IIT Roorkee admission to the BTech, BArch and BPlan courses. The last date to register for the same is Feb 25, 2026. Further, the session 2 exams will be conducted from Apr 2 to Apr 9, 2026.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech and PhD courses has concluded. Results are scheduled for release on Mar 19, 2026.
- The IIT JAM 2026 exam is now over for admission to the MSc course, with the results expected to be announced on Mar 20, 2026.
- The CEED results will be published on the official website for the MDes course on Mar 4, 2026.

IIT Roorkee has an active Training and Placement department that facilitates all types of placement-related activities. The Internship drive at IIT Roorkee for pre-final year students starts from August every year. PPTs and Tests of the placement drive begin from the last week of September. In addition, IIT Roorkee placement interviews start from the first week of December.
IIT Roorkee placement process 2026 is ongoing and will conclude between April and May, 2026. IIT Roorkee offers admission to the Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) programme through the JEE Main entrance exam. The eligibility for IIT Roorkee admission is decided by CSAB/ JoSAA. Currently, the institute has an annual intake of 192 students for the BTech programme. At the time of institute reporting for admission, a student has to bring the following list of original documents along with one set of photocopies.

IIT Roorkee BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 5 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 481 and, 7286 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. The Last Round for Computer Science and Engineering is 481 for the General AI category.

The rank that you require to target for a particular specialisation at IIT Roorkee would depend on the category you belong to. If you belong to the General AI category, then you must target a rank of below 2033 for Electrical Engineering, as per the last round.
If you belong to the OBC AI category, then your target should be a rank below 1012. For the SC AI and ST AI category candidates, the target rank for Electrical Engineering should be below 560 and 298, respectively.
Yes, in order to take admission in IIT Roorkee BSc courses, candidates must first qualify JEE Main. Students who qualify JEE Main are then required to register and appear for JEE Advanced. This exam is conducted by one of the IITs every year by rotation under the supervision of a Joint Admission Board, which comprises of representatives from all the IITs. IIT Roorkee doesn't offer PhD in Design course through CEED. It only offers a MDes in Industrial Design. Admission to the M.Des programme will be based on CEED 2026 merit rank. The candidate will have to apply directly to the participating college once results are declared.
