IIT Roorkee Partners with Rekhi Foundation to Launch Innovative Centre for Science of Happiness

IIT Roorkee and Rekhi Foundation for Happiness have signed an MoU to enhance wellness activities by establishing a dedicated “Centre for the Science of Happiness.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee and the Rekhi Foundation for Happiness have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance the activities of the IIT Roorkee wellness centre through the creation of a dedicated "Centre for the Science of Happiness." This strategic initiative aims to promote research, education, and practices related to happiness and well-being, providing significant benefits to students, staff, and the broader community. The MoU was signed by Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi of the Rekhi Foundation and Prof. Akshay Dvivedi, Dean of Sponsored Research & Industrial Consultancy at IIT Roorkee.

Centre for the Science of Happiness at IIT Roorkee

The Centre for the Science of Happiness at IIT Roorkee will provide a wide range of opportunities to enhance academic and emotional well-being. Offerings will include specialized courses, hands-on learning experiences in a cutting-edge Mind Lab, and direct access to international experts in happiness science. Supported by the Rekhi Foundation, the Centre will receive annual funding to develop innovative courses, advance pioneering research, and establish essential infrastructure. Global engagement will be a key aspect, featuring participation from renowned happiness experts in both virtual and in-person sessions, ensuring a truly international learning experience.

The Centre will focus on creating and delivering courses on the Science of Happiness, empowering students to lead fulfilling lives filled with positivity, emotional resilience, and purpose, while also providing resources for practical learning through a dedicated Mind Lab equipped with modern tools.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi, Founder of Rekhi Foundation for Happiness stated, “At the Rekhi Foundation, we firmly believe that happiness is a science that can be learned and practiced. Our partnership with IIT Roorkee will enable students and staff to develop not only their academic and professional skills but also their inner well-being.
