
National Law University Delhi released the AILET exam pattern on the website- nationallawuniversitydelhi.in, along with the AILET notification 2026. The AILET 2026 will be an objective-type test; there will be no descriptive sections in the AILET question paper. The AILET paper will carry 150 questions in MCQ format. The questions will be asked from three subjects: English Language, Current Affairs including GK, and Logical Reasoning. AILET Tie-Breaking Method 2026
AILET tie braking criteria will be adopted to deal with situations where two or more candidates get the same score:
- If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined based on higher marks in the section on LOGICAL REASONING in the AILET 2026.
- If the merit is still the same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If there is still no change in merit, then a computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.
- If there is no merit change, authorities shall consider computerized lot draws.

AILET 2026 exam was conducted on December 14, 2025 in online mode. AILET 2026 Result is available to download on the website. NLU Delhi released the AILET first merit list 2026 on January 8, 2026.
AILET 2026 exam pattern did not undergo any changes this year, yet, however, the NLU Delhi reserves the right to introduce any revisions to the exam pattern. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website to avoid any last minute surprises. AILET 2026 exam will comprise 150 MCQ based questions from three sections: English, Current Affairs and General Knowledge, and Logical Reasoning. Earlier, the all India Law entrance test had one more section namely, Legal Aptitude which was removed from the exam syllabus in the previous session.

Getting 79 in AILET is kind of a fair score, but it depends on how hard the exam was that year. Sometimes the cutoff goes high, sometimes low. For general category, top ranks usually need around 85 or more. Still, your AILET 2026 score of 79 might stand close if the paper was tough overall.

No, the presidency university do not accept AILET Score. Candidates have to appear either for PULAT or CLAT to get admission in the law courses offered by the varsity. Without it you can not get admission.
