CLAT Exam 2027: Key Highlights
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to 26 NLUs out of 27. The NLU Delhi conducts its own entrance exam; i.e. All India Law Entrance Test (AILET). Apart from NLUs, the CLAT Scores are also accepted by many private law schools in the country.
The CLAT PG Scores are also accepted by several PSUs like ONGC, Coal India, BHEL, the Steel Authority of India, Oil India etc. Only Indian Nationals and NRIs can appear for the CLAT Exam. More than 60,000 candidates appear for CLAT Exam every year. Candidates must know the key elements of the exam as given in the table below:

CLAT Exam Syllabus 2027
The Consortium will release the CLAT syllabus on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The CLAT exam syllabus will have five sections, namely English language, logical reasoning, legal reasoning, general knowledge, current affairs, and quantitative techniques. Students who are planning to appear in the Common Law Admission Test are advised to refer to the CLAT syllabus. Candidates are advised to understand the weightage of each subject carefully to ensure a good rank in CLAT 2027. In the table below, check the subject-wise topics and the number of questions asked.

Candidates must note that there is no provision to complete the registration in offline mode. The CLAT Registration will likely close on October 30, 2026. Candidates can check steps given below to fill out the CLAT Application Form
- Go to consortiumofnlus.ac.in
- After logging in, select the program of study, 5-year LLB or one-year LLB
- Start by entering personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam centre preferences and reservation. Check the documents to be uploaded and their prescribed specifications below.

- Submit the form - Once the details are duly filled, agree to the declaration, give consent and submit the form.
- Pay the application fee - Submit the application fee using credit/ debit cards or net banking. Note that in addition to the exam fee, students will have to pay an additional INR 500 if they want to opt for previous years' question papers.

- You will be redirected to the login window.
- Enter registration/application number and date of birth.
- CLAT 2027 admit card will appear on screen.
