How to calculate the NEET UG score using NEET 2025 Answer Key?

After the release of the NEET answer key 2025, candidates could calculate the total marks for NEET. For this, they needed to match their answers with those given in the answer key of NEET 2025. NEET 2025 Marking Scheme In Case Challenges Are Valid

In case the NTA’s expert committee finds any of the challenges or objections valid after reviewing those, then marks will be awarded to all candidates. However, candidates will not be informed whether their challenge has been accepted or rejected. If any anomaly or discrepancy is found after the process of challenges of the key verification, it will be addressed by NTA in the given manner:

Correct answer or the most appropriate answer: Four marks (+4)
Any incorrect option marked will be given minus one mark (-1).
Unanswered: No mark (0).
If more than one option is found to be correct then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options.
If all options are found to be correct, then Four marks (+4) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.
If none of the options is found correct or a Question is found to be wrong or a Question is dropped, then all candidates who have appeared will be given four marks (+4) irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.

Click "Display OMR Answer Sheet/Challenge recorded response and Answer Key".
Login with your Application Number and Password; enter the captcha code as displayed and submit.
The option number next to the question under the column "Correct Option" stands for the most appropriate Answer Key used by the NTA for that respective set.
If you wish to challenge any option, then select the box to choose your preferred options from the four given options.
You may upload supporting documents for which you can select "Choose File" and Upload (all supporting documents to be put in a single PDF file).
After selecting your desired options, scroll down, "Save your Claim", and then move to the next screen.
You will see a display of all the questions and option numbers, which you have selected to challenge.
Click on "Save your Claim and Pay Fee Finally".

Filing objection against the OMR response sheet of NEET

NEET 2025 OMR response sheets of candidates were released by NTA along with the provisional answer key of NEET 2025. NTA also sent the scanned image of candidates' OMR sheets to the candidates' registered email addresses. NEET takers are advised to check the OMR response sheet and compare the answers reflected in the sheet with those that they had marked on the exam day. The NEET OMR sheet and provisional answer keys were available to candidates after logging in to the official website of NTA NEET 2025.

If a candidate feels that the answers reflected in the NEET OMR response sheet are not what s/he had marked on the day of the examination, s/he can file an objection against the response sheet. A non-refundable fee of INR 200 has to be paid for the successful submission of the objection.

NEET 2024 Answer Key for Retest

The NEET 2024 revised final answer keys for the original exam were released by NTA on July 26, 2024. This revised NEET answer key 2024 is as per the Supreme Court verdict. Originally, the final answer key of NEET 2024 stated that in a particular Physics question, two answer options were correct. Based on the revision, only option number 4 of that particular question has been stated as correct.

During the Supreme Court of India hearing on the various NEET 2024 petitions, the apex court had asked the IIT Delhi Committee to share its opinion on the controversial NEET 2024 Physics question which had two correct answer options as per the NEET 2024 final answer key by NTA. It has been opined that the two options were mutually exclusive and only option number 4 was correct. Accordingly, the bench has suggested revoking the bonus marks, awarding four marks only to those who have marked the answer option 4, and levying negative markings to those who selected any other answer option.

The NEET 2024 final answer keys for the re-examination were released by NTA on June 30, 2024, ahead of the result declaration. The NEET 2024 re-examination final answer keys were released for the four question paper sets, A, B, C and D, along with their six subsets. There were no changes or revisions in the NEET 2024 re-exam answer keys.

The NEET 2024 provisional answer keys and OMR sheets for the NEET 2024 retest were released by NTA on June 28, 2024. The last date to submit challenges was June 29, 2024, till 11 PM. The frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding the NEET 2025 answer keys are given below.

Q: Will NTA release NEET solutions along with answer keys?

While NTA releases the NEET answer keys PDF, it does not release the detailed solutions or the answer-solving procedures and explanations. On the other hand, experts from coaching institutes release detailed NEET answer key solutions and candidates may refer to those to note the correct and effective way of solving a question. Hence, to understand if the answer solving methodology, test takers will not have any official source of reference, but would have to rely on the unofficial sources only.

Q: Does NTA release NEET answer keys and question papers together?

No, the National Testing Agency (NTA) does not release NEET answer keys and question papers together. While releasing the NEET provisional result, NTA releases candidates' OMR sheets. The final NEET answer key is released in the form of a single PDF document, carrying the keys for all sets of the NEET question papers. The hardcopy of the NEET question papers are given by NTA on the day of the exam. Being a paper-pencil based test, candidates are allowed to carry the question papers outside the exam hall. In general, NTA releases the NEET question papers of previous years on its official website few months after the exam is conducted. NTA has released the NEET 2023 question papers of English and Hindi languages. However, the NEET 2022 question papers are not available on the official website yet. It is expected that the question papers of NEET 2022 will be released soon.

Q: Are the unofficial NEET answer keys by coaching institutes reliable?

Yes, NEET unofficial answer keys are prepared by the experts at the coaching centres. They are reliable for calculating marks in NEET. However, even if there is no doubt about the accuracy of the answer keys, these cannot be considered to be official. Students may use the keys as a reference for calculating their estimated scores or to decide whether NEET objections should be filed or not. Apart from these there is no other role of the NEET answer keys released by the coaching institutes.

Q: Will NTA refund the money of my NEET official answer key challenge is valid?

The NEET answer key challenge processing fee of INR 200 is non-refundable. NTA has specified the same on the information bulletin. As the answer key objection fee is non-refundable, candidates must crosscheck their challenges and be completely sure about the inaccuracy of the provisional answer key before sending out the objections. Given this information, candidates must not expect a refund of fee even if the NEET answer key challenges are found to be valid.

Q: What is the format of releasing the NEET final answer keys?

NTA releases the NEET final answer keys along with the result. NTA releases the final answer keys of NEET on the official websites of NTA and NEET. The format of the NEET final answer keys is a PDF document. The correct answer option of each question from each NEET question paper set is provided in a single document. At the footer of the page, comments are added as footnotes to indicate any changes brought in to the questions or answer key options. Q: How will I come to know if there is any change in the NEET provisional answer key after the objections are submitted?

The NEET 2025 question paper was divided into four sets, 45, 46, 47 and 48. Unlike previous years, the NEET 2025 question paper sets were not alphanumeric but this year, the sets were only numeric. Moreover, till last year, a total of 24 question paper sets were given, as there were six subsets of each set. For example, NEET question paper set A had six subsets, A1, A2, A3.A6, and so on. However, this year, there were only four sets and no subsets.
