CUTN offers a range of postgraduate programs across its 13 schools and 28 departments

The Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) is set to commence admissions process for its postgraduate 2025-26 academic session through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) PG 2025.

With applications expected to open in June 2025 and close by mid-July 2025, aspiring students can prepare to secure seats in a wide array of postgraduate programs offered across CUTN’s 13 schools and 28 departments.

CUTN PG admissions for the 2025-26 academic year will be through the CUET PG 2025, which serves as a standardized entrance exam for postgraduate programs across central universities and other participating private, state and deemed universities.

CUET PG Application Process

The online application process for CUET PG 2025 at CUTN is likely to begin in June 2025, with the deadline for submissions expected around mid-July 2025, likely July 15, 2025, though some programs may allow applications until July 30, 2025.

Candidates will have to apply through CUTN’s official admission website, completing an online form with personal, academic, and contact details, uploading required documents, and paying the application fee.

The fee structure is approximately INR 800–1,200 for general category candidates, with reduced rates of INR 650–1,000 for SC/ST/OBC candidates, payable via net banking, credit/debit card, or UPI.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for CUTN’s postgraduate programs, candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university, securing at least 55% marks for general category applicants and 50% for SC/ST/OBC candidates. Specific programs may have additional subject-specific requirements. Admission depends on performance in the CUET PG 2025 exam, which was conducted between March and April, with some programs potentially requiring additional departmental tests or interviews.

Programs Offered

CUTN offers a range of postgraduate programs across its 13 schools and 28 departments, including MA degrees in Economics, English, Mass Communication, Hindi, and Classical Tamil Studies; MSc programs in Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Applied Psychology; as well as MBA, MCom, and LLM degrees. Specialized programs, such as MBA in Tourism and Hospitality Management, and new postgraduate diploma courses are also available.
