CTET 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) activated the CTET application correction 2026 link at ctet.nic.in. Candidates can make corrections if any until December 26. The application last date was December 18 (11:59 PM). The notification and application form for the CTET February 2026 exam were released on November 27. The CTET notification PDF in the form of information bulletin was released. Candidates were required to fulfill the prescribed CTET eligibility criteria 2026, including the age limit and educational qualification, to apply for the exam. The CTET exam will be conducted on February 8, 2026 (Sunday). 

Candidates seeking recruitment as primary teachers or elementary teachers in Central Government schools need to appear for the CTET exam to obtain the eligibility certificate. Q:   What are the qualifying marks for CTET exam?
A:

The CTET qualifying marks are different for different categories. General category candidates need to obtain a minimum of 60 per cent or above marks in the CTET 2025 exam in order to be considered as a CTET pass. The CTET passing marks for OBC/SC/ST category candidates are 55 per cent. Candidates scoring more than or equal to the qualifying marks are considered CTET qualified. Only those candidates are awarded the CTET Certificate those who secure the minimum qualifying marks. However, a higher CTET score is advantageous in the further teacher recruitment process.

Q:   What are CTET qualifying marks for the OBC category?
A:
The CTET qualifying marks for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category is 55 per cent. OBC candidates need to obtain 82 marks out of the total 150 marks to qualify the exam. A 81 mark scorer OBC candidate will fail to clear the exam.
Q:   What are CTET passing marks for the SC and ST categories?
A:
The CTET passing marks for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) categories is 55 per cent. The SSC & ST categories candidates need to obtain 82 out of the total 150 marks to qualify the exam and obtain the eligibility Certificate.

CBSE gives candidates one chance to correct any incorrect information in the CTET application form (if any).   • Click on the link available for the CTET application form correction
  • Enter the application number, password and security pin (as shown in the image)
  • Click on the Sign in button
  • Click on the application form correction button
  • Read the instructions on the page and click on the checkbox at the bottom of the page

  • Make the required changes in the application form

CTET 2026 Exam Overview

Q:   What is the eligibility for CTET?
A:
The CTET eligibility criteria differ for Paper 1 and Paper 2. Some of the basic requirements to fulfil CTET eligibility criteria for Paper 1 is passing 12 examinations with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks and Paper 2 is completing graduation with a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks. Candidates should go through the detailed eligibility criteria before filling out the CTET application form.
Q:   Which schools can I apply to through CTET exam?
A:
After clearing the CTET exam, you can apply for recruitment in schools controlled by the central government such as KVS and NVS and those under the administrative control of UTs - Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi. You can also apply for jobs in private schools accepting CTET scores.
Q:   Does CTET mark matter?
A:
Yes, the CTET marks matter in terms of qualification. Candidates need to obtain the qualifying CTET marks to clear the exam and obtain the eligibility Certificate. Only those candidates are awarded the CTET Certificate who pass the CTET exam by obtaining the minimum qualifying marks.

CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the CTET-NCTE prescribed eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. The CTET eligibility in terms of education qualification and age limit is shared below-

CTET Eligibility 2026: Paper 1

Candidates need to fulfil any one of the given criteria for CTET Paper 1.

  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration) OR Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration) OR Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam, securing a minimum of 45 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
  • Bachelor’s degree with a BEd.

CTET Eligibility 2026: Paper 2

Candidates need to fulfil any one of the given eligibility for CTET Paper 2.

  • Graduation and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration) OR
  • Graduation with 50 per cent marks with BEd. OR
  • Graduation with 40 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of BEd, according to NCTE regulations. OR
  • Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education/ B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A/ B.Sc.Ed.
