Common University Entrance Test/ CUET UG is an entrance exam. It is conducted for admission to UG programs offered by various central, state, private and deemed universities. Candidates willing to take admission to undergraduation programme in streams like Science, Humanities, Commerce, Law and Management must appear for CUET UG exam when conducted.

The National Testing Agency prescribes the CUET eligibility conditions in the information bulletin every year. The candidates are advised to read and ensure that they meet all the eligibility conditions to avoid last-minute cancellation of candidature.

The candidates can see the NTA CUET eligibility conditions given below:
- Students must have passed Class 12 or appeared in Class 12 from a recognised board (any stream).
- For the General category, the candidate needs to secure a minimum of 50% in Class 12;
- SC/ST, candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in Class 12.
- For BTech programmes, the minimum aggregate for the General category candidates is 45%, and that of the reserved category candidates is 40%.

Top central universities like Delhi University, does not accept CUET subject scores which have not been studied by student in class 12th. From CUET UG 2026 onwards, candidates can now choose for five CUET subjects. Earlier, the subject choices were six. With the rediuction in number of CUET subjects, the choices have been reduced. Candidates can opt for five subjects from 23 domain subjects of any stream irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th.
The difficulty level of the CUET exam varies between moderate and tough. Since the CUET UG exam is held for multiple subjects and slots, the difficulty level of the exam varies from subject to subject. Sometimes, the difficulty level may also vary for different slots.
