CUET stands for Common University Entrance Test. It is a national level entrance test conducted by National Testing Agency for UG and PG programs. It is a single window examination for admission to universities in India. It is a single window examination for students to apply to multiple universities across India. This examination is compulsory for admission to all central universities in India.

Common University Entrance Test/ CUET UG is an entrance exam. It is conducted for admission to UG programs offered by various central, state, private and deemed universities. Candidates willing to take admission to undergraduation programme in streams like Science, Humanities, Commerce, Law and Management must appear for CUET UG exam when conducted.

This entrance examination assesses candidates at various levels: Language, domain knowledge and general aptitude. CUET UG is conducted annually in computer based mode. CUET UG scores are accepted by more than 300 universities across India. 

Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG is conducted Assamese, Bengali,  English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi,  Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu languages. Candidates must note that the selection of medium will be restricted to state/UTs. Refer the table below to know the mediums restricte to respective state/UTs:

Candidates will not be able to edit the following details in the CUET 2027 application form once submitted:

Yes, it is important for students to align the CUET UG subjects with the subjects studied in class 12th. Top central universities like Delhi University, does not accept CUET subject scores which have not been studied by student in class 12th. While selecting CUET subjects candidates must make sure that CUET subjects must closely or completely align with the subjects studied in class 12th. Failing which, candidate will be disqualified for admission despite a good score.

If a candidate has forgotten his/her CUET application number, it can be retrieved by following the steps below:

• Check registered email ID and phone number for SMS as It includes CUET application form number on successful registration.
• Check the saved page of CUET application form. or,
• Candidates may contact at NTA to know their CUET application form number.

After getting the CUET application number, students must ensure to note it somewhere for future login process. CUET application form number is required to login and download the admit card or results when released.

From CUET UG 2026 onwards, candidates can now choose for five CUET subjects. Earlier, the subject choices were six. With the rediuction in number of CUET subjects, the choices have been reduced. Candidates can opt for five subjects from 23 domain subjects of any stream irrespective of subjects studied in class 12th. 

The difficulty level of the CUET exam varies between moderate and tough. Since the CUET UG exam is held for multiple subjects and slots, the difficulty level of the exam varies from subject to subject. Sometimes, the difficulty level may also vary for different slots. While for the well-prepared candidates, the difficulty level will be low, for the underprepared students, the level of difficulty will be on the higher side.  

CUET UG exam pattern have three sections.

Section I- 13 Languages 

Section II- 23 Domain Subject

Section III- General Test

Candidates will get 60 minutes for each language, domain subject and language. Candidates will not be given extra time

CUET UG language section will now consist of 13 languages instead of 33 languages. The 13 languages of CUET UG are: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

Whereas the languages that have been deleted are: Arabic, Bodo, Chinese, Dogri, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Manipuri, Nepali, Persian, Russian, Santhali, Sindhi, Spanish, Tibetan, Sanskrit.

Common University Entrance Test UG admit card is released in online mode only. Candidates are required to enter the CUET UG login details to download hall ticket. 

Candidates can select the preferred exam city based on permanent or present address while filling the application form. NTA allots the CUET exam centre based on the preferences added. NTA conducts CUET UG exam across 306 exam cities in India and 15 cities abroad.

Common University Entrance Test admit card was released two to three days before the exam date. National Testing Agency, the conducting body of CUET UG, issues the CUET UG admit card in multiple phases depending on the number of slots and exam duration.

Common University Entrance Test admit card can be downloaded by registered candidates only. Students must visit the official link to download the CUET hall ticket PDF when released. The admit card mentions the exam centre details, subject-wise exam date and slot timings.

For the CUET UG 2026 exam, 15,68,666 candidates have applied for the exam. This year has been marked by higher registrations. Approximately 67.56 Lacs candidates were allowed to choose upto 5 subjects.

CUET 2027 final answer key PDF will be made available, tentatively in June 2027, on the website cuet.nta.nic.in. Candidates can download the PDF and calculate their probable score using the response sheet and answer key.

The CUET questions are objective in nature and carries four options also known as MCQs. Candidates will have to choose the correct answer option and click on it with the help of a mouse. Since CUET UG  exam will be conducted in CBT mode, test-takers will be able to mark only one answer option. 

The overall difficulty level of CUET UG exam is moderate. As per the student reviews, the domain subject question paper is mostly based on NCERT books and previous years' questions.

No, the CUET UG exam duration is the same for all papers; that is, 60 minutes. Candidates have to attempt 50 questions within the given time limit. The marking scheme of each question remains the same.

Candidates have to appear for number of subjects chosen for CUET exam. Students can opt for maximum five CUET subjects. NTA CUET 2027 exam will be scheduled in May/June 2027, tentatively. Candidates preparing for board examinations must prepare well for the CUET exam along.

CUET UG cut off will vary from course to course and universities. After downloading the CUET provisional answer key, candidates must also download CUET response sheet. Candidates must match answers marked on the response sheet. While marking correct answers, candidates must follow marking scheme mentioned below:

• +5 marks will be given for every correct answer
• 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer

To prepare well for the CUET UG and board examinations, candidates must:

The CUET UG cut off is determined by CUET participating universities seperately. Parameters on the basis of which CUET UG cut off is released are:

• Total number of candidates that appeared for the CUET UG exam
• The number of seats offered by the participating universities through CUET UG
• The difficulty level of the CUET exam
• Overall performance of the test takers (pass percentage/ score range, etc.)

CUET cut off is based on the percentile of the candidate. To calculate the CUET percentile following formula is applied:

100*Number of candidates appeared in the session with a raw score is equal to or less than a candidate/ total number of candidates appeared for CUET UG.

More than 200 CUET participating universities, including central, state, government, private, and deemed institutes offer admission to various undergraduate and integrated courses through Common University Entrance Test (CUET-UG). Each CUET college offers the courses across Science, Humanities, Commerce, Management, Law, Engineering, and other streams. Students planning to get admission through CUET exam have to check the courses offered by their target university on their official website, NTA official website, or at Shiksha page.

CUET UG 2027 cutoff will be released by the accepting universities. Candidates can check the CUET cutoff on the official websites of the accepting universities soon after the declaration of results.

After the declaration of CUET result, the following steps should be taken:

No, National Testing Agency does not announce the CUET dates for counselling. The role of NTA ends soon after the declaration of CUET UG results. To know the CUET counselling sates, candidates must visit the official website of university they desire to take admission in. Every CUET participating university will release its own admission through CUET UG schedule.

Yes, you will have to appear for the CUET counselling rounds of the central universities. Admission to central universities is offered based on CUET UG scores. Candidates must note that class 12th marks will not be considered for final admission to UG courses of central universities. Class 12th marks are used for tie-breaking criteria. Candidates must ensure to appear for Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses to qualify for counselling rounds.

CUET UG counselling registration last date depends from university to university. Each participating university sets its own counselling registration deadlines. Therefore, candidates must stay updated with admission and cut off dates of universities they wish to apply to. Candidates are suggested to stay updated with CUET 2025 admission dates for individual universities to avoid missing deadlines.
