Assam HSLC Exam Pattern 2026: Know Marking Scheme & Exam Duration Here

The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) prescribed the exam pattern for the class 10 exams. The students must note that the SEBA exam pattern is prescribed in the form of Assam HSLC model paper. Students can download the Assam HSLC sample paper online on board's website. Students need to check the exam pattern to be aware of how the final board exams will be conducted.

There are many subjects included in Assam class 10 exams. Students need to select in Assam HSLC exam from the below mentioned subjects.

• English
• Social Science
• Mathematics
• Computer Science
• All MIL

Many students feels that their Maths or Science or both subjects are not good in class 10. The exam comprises 6 subjects namely AII Mil, English, English (IL), Mathematics, Science, and Social Science. The total mark of the Assam HSLC Board exam is 600. 100 marks is distributed in each subject in the SEBA 10th board exams. Only Science paper has practical exams. Out of 100, 90 marks are distributed for theory exams. On the other hand, 10 marks are for Internal/practical exams.

The duration of each SEBA 10th exam is 3 hours (180 minutes) and the students need to secure minimum 33 percent marks in the exam. The overall difficulty level of the Assam Class 10 Exams is Easy to Moderate. Questions are asked from the entire Assam HSLC syllabus 2024-25. If you pay attention to covering the entire syllabus, your chances to secure high marks in the exam will increase. Students are also advised to practice the Assam HSLC model paper and previous years model paper.

Math is considered the most difficult subject for students. Clearing the Math paper in class 12 exams with good marks requires a genuine effort. Hence, the students must prepare for all the topics included in the Assam 10th math syllabus. However, these are the topics that are considered important for the exam:

• Pair of Linear Equations in 2 variables
• Triangles
• Coordinate Geometry
• Introduction to Trigonometry

The above-mentioned topics of Maths Assam HSLC syllabus carry a weightage of 8 marks each.

Multiple Choice Questions (MSQs) always play a cruicial role in any board exams. Inclass 10, 12 board exams, MCQs are asked in each paper that contain 30% to 40% marks. Through, MCQs, the students are tested for their knoledge and understanding of concepts. Each MCQ usually has one mark, hence, answering them correctly can award boost to your score. These MCQs also take less time to answer if the studtnts are well-prepared.

HSLC Exams 2026 Assam are conducted in offline mode (pen & paper). Candidates write the answers on answer sheet provided by the examiner. Objective type questions are answered in OMR sheet while the non-objective type questions are answer on descriptive normal answer sheet. Students must be aware of the exam pattern to get more familiar with the actual exam pattern.

As of now, the Assam board has not made any changes in the SEBA HSLC exam pattern. The board will soon prescribe the exam pattern in the form of a model question paper. Last year, the Assam board made some changes in the Assam HSLC exam pattern 2026. An OMR sheet will be given to answer the objective-type questions (50% of total marks) carrying 1 mark each for the core subjects. The chances of making any change in the Assam Board 10th exam pattern this year is very les. However, in case any change made in the exam pattern for the upcoming board exam, we will update the same.

The difficuulty level of the Assam 10th exam is easy to moderate. Obtaining good marks in the exam is not very difficult. Hence, the students must focus on completing the Assam HSLC exam preparation. The students are suggested to cover the entire SEBA HSLC (10th) syllabus at least a month before the exam so that they can revise the Assam 10th syllabus and also practice the SEBA HSLC sample papers.

The board announced the Assam HSLC routine 2026. Students can access the same online on board's website at sebaonline.org. The class 10 exams are scheduled from February 10 to 27, 2026. The exams are held in two shifts. The first shift exams will be conducted from 9:00 am to 12:00 and the second shift exams will be conducted from 1:30 pm to 04:30 pm.
