Goa Board HSSC Preparation Tips

Plan precisely

Students must make a subject plan and finish it within the deadline. They need to work both as a student and a supervisor. In other words, self-learning and self-monitoring should be prioritised. This would not only help to complete the lessons within the time but would also save one from the last moment rush. Preparing for the exams strategically is highly important.

Practice

Subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry are filled with equations, derivations, and formulae. It is pretty difficult for the students to learn and grasp each formula. They must write it and practice it as much as they can. Apart from easy learning, enough practising would allow them to use the formulae appropriately. Know the Goa HSSC syllabus and prepare accordingly.

Solve previous years’ question papers

One of the best ways to analyse one’s preparation is to solve the past 10-year of Goa 12th question papers of each subject. One should solve it as directed and within the allotted time. Practising helps in knowing the strengths and weaknesses. This will help to understand the Goa HSSC exam pattern.

Know your strengths and weaknesses

Students should be aware of their positive and negative factors. Work on the weaker subjects and improve it. For example: if you face problems in solving any equation, practice it consistently and seek help from the tutors or classmates. When you master your weak subjects, you can score better.

Study on target basis

It can be difficult at the beginning to stick to the time-table. However, if you get used to it, it is easy to concentrate. Give proper time to each subject so that you may complete it within the time limit while properly revising it. Make sure to not include long hours of study, include short breaks in it for a considerable focus on each subject.

Reliable sample books

Students must ensure that the sample books/ papers they are referring to are reliable enough. Solving the sample papers would help in knowing the syllabus and marking scheme in detail. However, it is suggested to go through the marking schemes released by the Board. Studying and writing answers as per the marks would add an impressive impact upon the examiner.

Attentively read the question

The first 15 minutes are provided to go through the question paper. Before writing, it is very important to understand what is asked. Writing the answers logically and briefly is very important. For this, use the given 15 minutes to make strategies on how to go about the answers. Avoid filling the paper as it irritates the examiner.

Maintain your speed and accuracy

Maintaining the speed from starting is very important. However, make sure you do not compromise on the accuracy. Generally, students take high pressure to complete it in time but in turn, commits several mistakes. Such silly mistakes should be avoided and be focused while writing the answers.

Keep it simple

Writing an answer in an understanding way is very important. Too complicated or complicated language should not be used. Conceptual answers written precisely in an easy language is what the examiners expect.

Practice Diagrams

Students must practice diagrams as they hold a very important role in answring diagram-based questions

Prioritise the important questions

Another essential factor that would help you score better is to give priority to the important questions. Before taking a step into the difficult questions, attempt those that are easy and you know the answers well. When the beginning is well, it will genuinely impact the examiners.
