MBOSE HSSLC Exam Pattern 2026: The Meghalaya board prescribes the MBOSE 12th exam pattern 2026 along with the syllabus and marking scheme for the MBOSE HSSLC exam. Subjects are divided into Science, Commerce, Arts, Modern Indian languages, Elective languages, and Vocational streams. Most Science, Commerce, and Arts exams have a duration of 3 hours and a total score of 100 marks. These papers have a section of multiple-choice, objective-based questions. All language papers, both Modern Indian languages and Elective languages, have a duration of 3 hours and a total score of 100 marks. These papers have a section of multiple-choice, objective-based questions as well. The vocational stream has a total of four papers and does not have any multiple-choice, objective-based questions section. Two of these papers are for 45 marks and are to be attempted in 2 hours.

Not exactly the same, but, MBOSE can ask questions similar to what were asked in the previous years of MBOSE 12th exams. Thus, you are advised to download and practice the previous years' question papers thoroughly for better preparation. 

Q:   Can I be promoted without scoring passing marks in MBOSE 12th?
A: 

Many students wish to clear their board exams without studying, however, please note that you will not be able to pass the 12th class without securing the minimum passing marks of 33 in all subjects and also 33 percent in aggregate and will have to repeat an academic year. 

Thus, you are advised to go through the MBOSE 12th syllabus, and know the exam pattern so that you are able to build a strategy to score well in exams. Make notes of important points as you study. Stay confident and focus your energy on studies and you'll be able to pass with flying colours.

MBOSE does not advise students to do selective study for MBOSE Class 12 examinations. The Board has prescribed syllabus for every subject. Students are expected to study thoroughly from the entire MBOSE 12th syllabus and understand the concepts in order to score good marks in exams.

Q:   Can I use a scientific calculator in the MBOSE 12th board exams?

NO. No type of calculators, mobile phones, or any technological gadget is allowed during MBOSE exams. Any student caught carrying these will be barred from writing their exam.

For MBOSE HSSLC, students must study a total of five to six subjects that include English (Compulsory), MIL, and Alternative English, and three to four subjects based on their stream, Science, Commerce or Arts.

MBOSE HSSLC syllabus is prescribed by the board. It follows the CBSE syllabus. The subjects included are English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accountancy, and Economics. It comprises both theory and practical assessments.
