IIT Kharagpur Application Process 2026
Commonly asked questions On Application Process
BTech aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE Main through the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA) i.e., (nta.ac.in). Followed by JEE Main, students are required to register for JEE Advanced. For this, candidates have to first login with their JEE Main 2026 application number and password. Next candidates have to fill in the registration form, upload scanned certificates, and pay the application fee. Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur offers undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D. and other courses to students. It offers these programmes through 13 Schools, 19 departments, and nine centres of excellence. The courses include B.Arch B.Tech, a five-year Dual Degree, M.Sc. M.Tech / MCP-PhD, MMST, MBA, M.Tech-PhD, and Ph.D. courses. The modes of admission for B.Arch at IIT Kharagpur are online and offline.
After the application process is over; students have to go through various selection rounds for final admission. The institute considers the merit of the candidates for MBA, LLM and PhD admission. For BTech, MSc, BSc and M.Tech courses, JEE Advanced, IIT JAM and GATE scores are considered for the selection of candidates. Additionally, admission to PhD and MS by Research is based on UGC NET/ CSIR NET and other national-level exam scores. After the selection rounds, JoSAA, COAP and CCMN Counselling are conducted for seat allotment to BTech, M.Tech and MSc courses. A merit list is released by the institute for announcing the names of the candidates shortlisted for certificate, PhD and MS by Research courses followed by a counselling round. Candidates need to pay the admission fee to confirm their admission.
IIT Kharagpur Scholarships
IIT Kharagpur offers Merit-Cum-Means (MCM) scholarships for students who are eligible in B.Tech, Dual Degree, B.Arch, Integrated M.Sc., and BS. These scholarships provide tuition fee exemption to up to 25% of students every year and have a minimum academic requirement. A student needs to fulfill both merit and financial requirements, with a minimum GPA of 7.00 for renewal. The scholarship is given for 12 months for each academic year and is withdrawn in case of disciplinary action. Also, Endowment and Alumni Funded scholarships are provided on the basis of academic merit and other factors.

In order to apply for BSc courses at IIT Kharagpur, a candidate must first appear for JEE Advanced. The steps to apply for JEE Advanced is as follows:
- Authenticate using JEE Main details, JEE roll no and D.O.B, and Login
- Fill the registration form
- Upload a scanned copy of required documents such as Class 10 and 12 marksheet, category certificate, JEE Mains scorecard
- Pay the application fee
- Download and print the registration acknowledgement
IIT Kharagpur admits students to its BSc courses on the basis of JEE Advanced marks. Thus, interested candidates must register and appear for JEE Advanced exam. The fee for JEE Advanced exam is INR 1,600 for all female, SC, ST and PwD candidates. For all other candidates, application fee is INR 3,200.
IIT Kharagpur provides MCM or Merit-cum-Means Scholarships to students. Candidates pursuing BTech Dual Degree, BArch, Integrated MSc or BSc can apply. This scholarship provides tuition fee exemption to up to 25% students every year and have a minimum academic requirement.

For Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur admissions, candidates need to clear the entrance exams and should also fulfill the other eligibility criteria. Sorry, but you didn't mention the course or Exam you are preparing for, as you know IIT Kharagpur is so big not because of its Campus size only but also because of Courses offered by it there are B.Tech courses, B.S, B.Ed courses, B.A courses, MBA, Law etc. also medical school is also opening in IIT
