Mistakes to Avoid during UCEED 2027 Exam Preparation
Some of the common UCEED mistakes are given below.
- Unaware of the UCEED Syllabus and Pattern - Many candidates are not aware of the UCEED Syllabus and pattern and keep on studying without even looking at the syllabus. They are carried away by the thought that syllabus for UCEED is similar to the syllabus and pattern of other design entrance exams. This leads to a lack of preparation and students cannot do well in the exam.
- Lack of Practice of Observation and design sensitivity: Candidates should practice Observation and design sensitivity questions regularly, as they are a very crucial part of the test. They should observe things of daily life, functions of various products, shapes, sizes, patterns of various objects to score well in exam.
- Lack of Time management: Candidates often lack this skill, and are left with so much to complete at the end. They stick to one topic and keep on practicing, or they start a very difficult topic and waste a lot of time studying it. They should focus on both parts of the UCEED Syllabus and allot proper time for all the sections according to their capacity.
- Poor quality Study Material - There are N number of books, videos, and content related to UCEED preparation available in the market. Candidates often go for the study material that is cheap. Such study material does not have the latest questions and covers old patterns and syllabus. They often do not have changes made by the exam-conducting body. Good study material not only helps you understand concepts better, but it also helps build confidence.
- Inconsistent Approach - A good student will religiously complete the quota of daily study hours and that too diligently. But if you go on dilly dallying with your exam preparation routine, you will have a hard time completing the UCEED syllabus. Note that not completing the syllabus will severely impact your chances of getting a good score.
- Ignoring UCEED Exam Pattern and Syllabus: Many students do not pay attention to the exam syllabus and pattern given by IIT Bombay. They keep on preparing without paying attention to the prescribed syllabus. With such practice, they are clueless about the pattern and do not know about the exam.
- Not Practicing PYQs & Sample papers - This is one of the most important parts of the UCEED preparation. One should always solve past year question papers and sample papers while preparing for the entrance exam. If this is missed, the candidate is clueless about the question type, trend, repeated questions, etc. They are unable to develop problem-solving and time management skills.
- Not Taking Mock Tests - Many candidates do not take mock tests to practice for the exam. Mock tests give the real feeling of exam and help to face exam fear. Not taking mock tests will keep candidates unprepared for the exam.
- Not Maintaining Notes - This practice is not done by most of the candidates and it leads to a delay in quick revision. If notes are maintained, it will help in revision and retention of what has been studied. It also improves comprehension and writing speed.
- Not Enough Reading: Candidates preparing for UCEED must read as much as they can to score good marks in Current Affairs and in other sections of exam. Reading newspaper is missed by most of the aspirants. They think it is a waste of time, but it really helps in preparing for topics such as Current Affairs, Environment and society, scientific knowledge, etc.
- Lack of Rest: This is avoided by candidates who try to complete the syllabus on time. It leads to fatigue, nausea and tiredness. Lack of sleep leads to poor retention and memory. Candidates cannot focus and it leads to anxiety and fear.
