Commonly asked questions
Q:   Where can I find previous years' exam analysis for the UCEED exam?
A:

The candidate can find the previous years’ exam analysis for the UCEED exam on this page. The exam analysis will cover both Part A and Part B of the exam. Note that it is mandatory for candidates to qualify Part A; or else Part B answer booklet will not be evaluated.

The UCEED exam analysis for a particular year will cover in-depth analysis of the question paper for that year. Consequently, it will include details like sectional and overall difficulty, questions asked, marking scheme, good attempts, and expected cut-off. By consulting the cut-off for previous years, the candidate will be able to figure out what is a good score to get admission to one’s favorite college.

Q:   Who will set the UCEED 2025 question paper?
A:

IIT Bombay which is the exam conducting body of UCEED 2025 will prepare the question paper for the entrance exam. The question paper of UCEED 2025 will include two parts - Part A and Part B. It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the parts and also qualify Part A. Note that Part B answer booklet will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A.

Note that IIT Bombay has revised the syllabus for the UCEED 2025 exam. Now Part B of the question paper will include two questions - one question will be aptitude-based, while the second question will be sketching-based. The test duration for Paper B has also been increased to 60 minutes (from 30 minutes).

Q:   What is the best time to take UCEED 2026 mock tests?
A:

The official mock tests are meant to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED 2026 exam. So, you shouldn’t typically take mock tests at the start or even middle of your UCEED 2026 exam preparation. The logic being mock tests are not designed to help you improve your problem-solving ability or your time-management skills. In fact, mock tests are meant to help you get a exam like ambience before the exam and understand what is like to be inside the exam centre.

That being said, mock tests designed by some coaching institutes are more comprehensive and might help you build problem-solving ability and time-management skills.

Q:   If I take only mock tests of UCEED 2026, is it enough to get a good score in the design entrance exam?
A:

Mock tests are useful only when you take them closer to the exam. They are also by no means an integral part of one’s exam preparation in the early stages. When you are starting off your preparation and reach until the mid stage, all you need are test books, sample papers, and the notes you have taken. Once you have mastered the concepts and honed your problem-solving skills sufficiently, you can take the mock test. The mock tests at this stage will help you get acquainted with the exam process, especially the exam environment.
