JoSAA 2024 Electrical Engineering Cutoff for IITs: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released JoSAA 2024 seat allotment results and opening and closing ranks for round 5. The round 5 JoSAA 2024 cutoff for IITs has been announced and is given on this page for the Electrical Engineering course. In 2024, a total of 17,740 seats, including Female Supernumerary seats, will be available across 23 IITs. With 48,248 candidates qualifying for IIT admissions through JEE Advanced 2024, the number of aspirants exceeds the total IIT seats by nearly threefold. Notably, there's an increase of 355 seats compared to last year, with this year's total reaching 17,740, while last year's stood at 17,385.

JoSAA 2024
JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has been set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to manage and regulate joint seat allocation for admissions to over 100 institutes, including IITs, NITs, IITs, and other government technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs). Admissions to all these institutes will be done through a single platform. The idea behind introducing a single counselling platform is to reduce thousands of seats going vacant in engineering colleges across the country. The Joint seat allocation process is introduced to make the whole process of admissions smoother, more effective, efficient, transparent, and a lot faster.

JoSAA Counselling is for government/NIT/IIT-level colleges, you need a JEE Main/Advanced score, seats are allotted by the government, fees are lower, and the process is centralized and merit-based.
Direct Private Admission is for private colleges like NIE, JSS, or VVCE Mysore done through KCET or COM

Yes, students may get a seat in NIT Puducherry BTech with 92 percentile in JEE Main through JoSAA counselling. The cutoff is high for specialisations, such as CSE.
