Stage-1: Display or Publishing of Information Brochure by the CET Cell. The Information Brochure shall be published on the website of the competent authority.

Stage-2: The candidate should fill the online application form for MHT CET CAP rounds as per the notified schedule for respective admission.

Stage-3: Document verification at the facilitation centre or through the method prescribed by the CET Cell. Candidates must produce all original documents in support of the claim made in the application form. After confirmation of application form, information cannot be changed by a candidate.

Stage-4: Publishing provisional merit list. Candidates will also be allowed to submit their grievances against the merit list. After going through all the grievances, publishing final merit lists.

Stage-5: Display of category-wise seats (Seat Matrix) available after each MHT CET CAP Round 2020. CET Cell will publish the information on the website about institutes, courses offered, Sanctioned intake and number of seats available for each category before each round.

Stage-6: Filling up choices of courses and institutions prior to respective CAP Rounds by candidates in decreasing order of their preferences. The options once confirmed by the candidate will be considered for allotment in the respective CAP Rounds. Candidates may fill in maximum 300 choices of institutes and courses.

Stage-8: Display of provisional allotment of respective MHT CET 2020 CAP Round indicating allotted institute and Course.

Stage-9: Reporting and accepting the offered seat at Admission Reporting Centre (ARC) by candidates as per the schedule declared by the competent authority.

Stage-10: Only after reporting to ARC, the candidate should report to the allotted institute for further admission process and

Conducting MHT CET CAP Rounds 2020

There will be a total of three rounds of seat allotment for candidates. The conducting authority will publish the available seats after every round on the Website. The Candidate whose names appear in the final merit list of CAP shall be eligible to participate in this round by filling online option form. The candidate shall fill and confirm the option form through candidate’s Login. Candidates must keep in mind the following important points during the MHT CET 2020 seat allotment process:

  • The Candidate whose names appear in the final merit list of CAP shall be eligible to participate in this round by filling online option form. The candidate shall fill and confirm the option form through candidate’s Login.
  • Candidates who have been allotted seat other than their first preference and if they are satisfied with the allotment and do not wish to participate in further CAP rounds can freeze the offered seat through candidate’s login. Once the candidate freezes the allotted seat, he/she should report to ARC for verification of documents and payment of seat acceptance fee.
  • Candidates who have been allotted seat other than first preference and accepted the seat by reporting to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance as per the method prescribed by the Competent Authority shall be eligible for participation in the subsequent rounds for betterment.
  • Candidates who have been allotted seat other than first preference and not accepted the seat by not reporting to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance shall be eligible for participation in the subsequent rounds.

Q. What type of seats are filled through CAP in MHT CET 2020?

A. Maharashtra State Candidature Seats, All India Candidature Seats, Minority Quota Seats, Supernumerary Seats for Jammu and Kashmir Migrant Candidature have been filled through MHT CET CAP Rounds.

Q. How many MHT CET CAP Rounds will be conducted?

A. There will be 3 counselling rounds. The CET Cell will publish the list of available seats after every round on the official website i.e. cetcell.mahacet.org. The counselling of next round will be based on the seats remain vacant after the previous round.

Q. Can one choose their college preference for MHT CET counselling?

A. Yes, the candidates can choose their college preference for the MHT CET counselling through the official website after the result is declared.

Q. How are seats allocated in MHT CET CAP Rounds?

A. The seats for MHT CET will be allocated on the basis of candidates’ rank in the entrance test, seats available, domicile rules and reservation criteria.

Q. What is the counselling fee?

A. Counselling fee is different for different categories. Fee for general category, candidates from outside Maharashtra State and applicant/children of Indian workers in Gulf countries is Rs 800. Fee for reserved category candidates from Maharashtra state and Disable applicants from Maharashtra is Rs 600. Fee for Children of NRI/OCI/PIO and Foreign National is Rs 5,000.

No. You cannot change the language of question paper during MHT CET exam. The medium/language of the question paper selected in the MHT CET application form is irrevocable.

The group selected in MHT CET decides the subjects to be studied. For PCM group, candidates have to study Physics, Chemistry and Maths, while PCB students have to study Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

It is not mandatory to attempt all questions in MHT CET 2026. Since there is no negative marking, students should attempt all questions without fear of losing marks.
