As per the official CAP schedule for First Year Engineering and Technology admissions, September 13, 2026 is the last date for cancellation of a seat with full fee refund.

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has specified the deadline for candidates seeking cancellation of their MHT CET 2026 CAP admission with a full fee refund. As per the official CAP schedule for First Year Engineering and Technology admissions, September 13, 2026 is the last date for cancellation of a seat with full fee refund. The refund provision is applicable as per rule 15 of the information brochure. Candidates who have taken admission through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) and no longer wish to continue should complete the cancellation formalities within the prescribed deadline. The counselling process is currently at its final stage, with the CET Cell conducting the MHT CET institute-level admissions for vacant seats.

No. There is no minimum mark required to pass the MHT CET exam. The only requirement to get the scorecard is to appear in all subjects of MHT CET and obtain a non-zero score.

Q:   How many times MHT CET is conducted in a year?

From 2026 onwards, Maharashtra CET Cell will conduct the MHT CET exam twice a year in April and May. MHT CET 2026 exam dates have been announced for both April and May session exams. The details about exam dates for both PCM and PCB groups have been released on the official website and the same can be checked on this page. 

MHT CET CAP Fee Refund 2026

Candidates cancelling their admission within the prescribed deadline are eligible for a full fee refund, subject to the conditions mentioned under rule 15 of the information brochure. This is important for students who have accepted a seat but subsequently decide to join another college, pursue admission through another counselling process or not continue with the allotted institute. Candidates should not wait until the final day to initiate cancellation. They should complete the required formalities with the concerned institute and retain proof of cancellation.

What Happens After MHT CET CAP Seat Cancellation?

Once a candidate cancels admission, the seat can become available for further admission as per the applicable admission rules and schedule. The CET Cell’s 2026 schedule provides for institute-level admissions against seats remaining vacant after CAP. Institutes are required to display vacant seats, invite applications and conduct admissions according to the Government admission rules. Therefore, candidates cancelling their seats should complete the process properly rather than simply stopping attendance or leaving the institute.

How to Cancel MHT CET CAP Admission 2026?

Candidates should follow these steps:

  • Contact the institute where admission has been confirmed.

  • Inform the institute that they wish to cancel the admission.

  • Submit the required cancellation request/form as prescribed.

  • Complete any verification or documentation required by the institute.

  • Collect the admission cancellation acknowledgement.

  • Keep copies of fee receipts and other relevant documents.

  • Follow up with the institute regarding the refund.

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MHT CET exam in online mode as a computer-based test. MHT CET exam is conducted for two different courses; BTech, and BPharma. The exam for both BTech and BPharma is completely online. The exam is held across various test cities in India.

Q:   How can a candidate verify his/her marks in MHT CET?
A: 

For verifying marks, candidates are required to write an application to the Divisional authority. It must reach to the authority within four days of result declaration. Along with the application, a bank draft of Rs 1,000 in the name “Director of Education & Research Mumbai” must also be submitted.

With a 51 percentile in MHT CET you might have limited options for top-tier engineering programs. Since you already possess a specialized, high-value professional course, so I think repeating an engineering/technical entrance exam to join a lower-tier private college will take you a step backward.

Sorry, but according to me with 96.09 percentile in MHT-CET through PCB, you cannot get admission to ICT for B.Tech Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. The cuttoff competitively closes around 99.0 to 99.9 percentile.
