Take a look at what students had to say about the SRMJEEE 2016 exam here.
Hemant, Lal Bahadur Shashtri School, Kota: The paper was difficult but a good one at that. I found Maths to be the toughest and Chemistry to be the easiest. Physics was of moderate level. I didn’t find any wrong questions in SRMJEEE like in JEE Mains. However, I expected questions from the topics Log and Young double slit (Physics) but surprisingly there were no questions from these. The other engineering exams that I have taken had questions from these topics.
Puruverma, Ahlcon International School, New Delhi: The paper was pretty easy and there were no surprises in the paper. The exam had more of theory questions which were easy and direct. Mathematics was the toughest for me followed by Chemistry and Physics.
Shaivya, Amity International, Noida: The exam was very easy. I did not expect such an easy paper. It was just perfect. The questions were so simple and direct. If I have to rate the subjects in order of their difficulty level, I would say Maths was the toughest followed by Physics and Chemistry.
Alind Gupta, DPS Mathura Road, New Delhi: The paper was definitely easier than the other engineering exams that I have appeared for. Mathematics was a bit difficult. There were misprints in the question paper but there were no glitches as such; atleast nothing that I experienced.
Zeel, Ryan International, Noida: Compared to JEE Mains, the exam was very easy. However, there was negative marking in the exam. There were no calculation based questions but more of theoretical ones. The difficulty level of the exam overall was moderate. Maths was the toughest, Chemistry was moderate and Physics was easiest for me. I didn’t face any technical glitches in the exam.
Nikunj, Vishwa Bharti Public School: The exam did not have tricky questions but more of information based questions. The paper was easy . Maths, as usual, was the toughest followed by Chemistry and Physics. I expected questions from atomic structure but the paper did not have any question form this topic. I didn’t face any technical glitches in the exam but there were students in the same room as mine whose computer got switched off in the middle of the exam.
Ayush, DAV, Noida: The paper was easy as expected. The exam pattern didn’t not change. All the sections had the same weightage. There were 35 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question was of three marks and there was a negative marking of -1 for any question answered incorrectly. Chemistry was more of theory. Mathematics was the easy. There were misprints in the question paper and some students complained of their computers getting switched off.
Sridhar Gahtori, St. Columbus, New Delhi: The exam, overall, was of moderate level. For me, Chemistry was tough, followed by Maths and Physics. In Chemistry, I could solve 20 questions, while in Maths and Physics; I could attempt 28 and 32 questions respectively. Most of the questions were direct as we had only 2.5 hours (150 minutes) to solve 105 questions. I am sure with this limited time, the paper wouldn’t be lengthy as you just don’t have the time to think or spend more than a minute to solve a question.
I did not face any technical glitches in the exam. But there were 5-6 technical glitches that people in the same faced.
You know, I think that people who set the paper should keep the difficulty level for each section the same. No section should be tougher or easier than the other.
SRMJEEE 2016 ranks are expected to be out on May 1, 2016. Check other important dates of the exam here.
