The students preparing for competitive exams should follow these preparation tips to clear MHT CET exam

1. Short Notes

Making short notes is always a useful way to study and is also helpful in quick revision. Write down all the new formulae while preparing for the exam in these short notes and revise these notes at the end of each day without a fail. This would make the revision of every topic easier.

2. Make a proper timetable

The students should make a timetable and stick to it to cover the syllabus within time and also to revise all the topics. Also, include breaks in the timetable to relax a bit. Enough sleep is very important, as studying with a fresh mind is required to improve the concentration.

3. Practise mock tests

Mock tests play an important role in the preparation process of the MHT CET exam. 4. Time management

For every student management of time in the exam is crucial. The time should be managed in such a way that student could go through every question at least once during the exam. 5. Previous year question papers

Previous year question papers are important in securing high marks in exams. Solving previous year papers could help in managing speed and time. This could also help in boosting the confidence of students and to get an idea of the latest exam pattern and the important questions.

6. Negative Marking

As per the updated MHT CET syllabus, there is no negative marking in this exam. Students should focus on covering the syllabus of both Class 11 and 12 just like they do for JEE Main exam.

Yes, other state candidates can apply for MHT CET, but the exam is being conducted exclusively in Maharashtra state. No. The MHT CET 2026 application form has to be filled in online mode only. There is no provision to fill the MHT CET application form in offline mode.

Yes. The authorities have announced that the MHT CET 2026 registration will be held twice a year starting from this year onwards. Candidates have to apply for both sessions together.

MHT CET 2026 scores are used for Maharashtra State Quota admissions. For All India seats in engineering colleges of Maharashtra, JEE Main scores will be used.

MHT CET cutoff is of two types- All India Category and Maharashtra Category. The seats which are allotted under the All India Quota have opening and closing ranks mentioned as "AI" whereas seats allotted under Maharashtra Quota have the ranks mentioned as "MH".
