The exam pattern for GAT differs for each course and is conducted as a computer-based test across various states in India and also as an online proctored test for some courses. Candidates should know the pattern for effective preparation for GITAM GAT 2026. The duration of the test varies from 1 hour to 2 hours depending on the course. The test consists of objective-type questions with four answer options, out of which one is correct. The CBT exam will be held in 2 hours and MCQs will be assked. Each correct answer wll have 2 marks and no negative marking is doen for wrong attempts.

Q:   Will the GAT question paper have descriptive type questions?
A: 

No, all the questions in the GAT question paper will be objective-type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. GAT question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answers. Candidates will have to attempt the 200 questions in 60 minutes. There will be no sectional time limit to attempt the GAT exam sections. GAT 2026 exam will be held multiple times in a year in computer-based mode across 27 cities in India.

Yes, GITAM offers scholarships based on the GAT rank or score or national or state entrance test scores or ranks as per GITAM's scholarship policy. This scholarship is applicable only for the first year, and to avail of the same scholarship for the subsequent years of study, candidates should score a CGPA of 8.0 and above in the qualifying examination. Scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, and seats under the scholarship quota are limited.
