Q:   Does GITAM accept JEE Main scores for admission in BTech courses?
A: 

Yes. GITAM accepts scores of JEE, TS EAMCET, or Andhra Pradesh EAMCET. The candidates who do not have scores of these exams can apply via GITAM GAT exam scores.

Q:   What is the exam pattern for GITAM GAT held for BTech admission?
A: 

In GITAM GAT BTech entrance exam, a total of 100 questions are asked of 200 marks. 30 questins are asked from maths, 20 each from Physics, Chemistry, and Quantitative Aptitude & Analytical Reasoning, and 10 questions from english. The CBT exam will be held in 2 hours and MCQs will be assked. Each correct answer wll have 2 marks and no negative marking is doen for wrong attempts.

Start with Basics for GAT 2026 Preparation

To start with GITAM preparation, candidates should get their basics strong. For this, you can check the following tips:

  • Understanding the basics of each topic is important to get better marks in GAT 2026.
  • If you know the concepts clearly, you can solve any question.
  • Make sure to follow NCERT for preparation as it has good explanantion of the concepts and basics.
  • However, if the basics are not clear, then no matter how much effort one puts in, the result will always be theoretical and not meaningful.

Q:   What is the GITAM GAT marking scheme?
A: 

In GITAM GAT, each correct answer will be awarded 1 or 2 marks. There is no negative marking. Each question has four options, of which one is correct.

Q:   Will the GAT question paper have descriptive type questions?
A: 

No, all the questions in the GAT question paper will be objective-type questions and will be in MCQ format. Candidates will be given four options for each question. Candidates will have to select the correct option for each question. GAT question paper will consist of 200 Multiple Choice Questions. Each question will be for one mark. There will be a negative marking for any wrong answers. Candidates will have to attempt the 200 questions in 60 minutes. There will be no sectional time limit to attempt the GAT exam sections. GAT 2026 exam will be held multiple times in a year in computer-based mode across 27 cities in India.

GITAM GAT Preparation 2026: Solve Sample Papers, Make Notes

An essential part of preparation is to practice with GITAM GAT sample papers and question papers. It is imperative to practice as many sample papers as you can to know the weightage of topics from each subject, and also you will be able to find out your weak areas and put the focus on them for improvement. You also get to know the GITAM GAT exam pattern.

Keep short notes & revise wisely

While preparing for the exam, make short notes regularly. This will be helpful at the time of revision. Aspirants can write short forms, formulas or abbreviations so that they need not go through the entire syllabus again. The short notes should be crisp and in bulleted points as topics prepared in such a manner will be easier to notice and therefore convenient during revision. After completing each topic from the syllabus of GITAM GAT 2026, candidates are advised to keep at least one month or two for revision. However, do not spend much time on it as it might impact your preparation. Revision at this stage should be quick, and try to cover the syllabus by covering each chapter. Take help from the short notes that you made during preparation.

Avoid Last Minute Preparation for GITAM GAT 2026 Exam

In the last lap of preparation, avoid taking any new topics from any subject. This will create chaos and further confusion. Rather, it is advised to dedicate the time to revise the units, topics and what you have already studied so far. In the last week before GITAM GAT 2026, candidates should be determined and very subjective in terms of the syllabus to be revised. GITAM GAT is conducted for admission to UG and PG courses offered by GITAM Deemed to be University. Candidates seeking admission to GITAM, must apply for GAT examination and stay updated with the latest events and dates. For the upcoming session, GAT 2025 registration has commenced. The exam is being held in multiple sessions for BBA and MBA.

Q:   Which body conducts GAT exam?
A: 

GITAM Aptitude Test (GAT) is conducted by GITAM Deemed to be University for admission to various UG and PG programmes. The examination is held in computer based mode, wherein candidates will have to report at the designated exam centre. GAT exam is conducted for a duration of 60 minutes for BBA and 90 minutes for MBA. Candidates must attempt 100 for BBA and 200 questions for MBA within the given time duration.
