How is KCET Exam Rank/Percentile calculated?
KCET rank is calculated by giving equal importance to student’s performance in KCET exam and qualifying (PUC/Class 12) marks, mainly in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology. The marks scored in these subjects in PUC and KCET are first normalized and then combined in a 50:50 ratio to prepare a final score.
Based on this combined score, candidates are ranked in descending order, with higher scorers getting better ranks. KCET does not use a separate percentile system like other exams; instead, the rank directly reflects student’s relative position among all aspirants.
