The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) conducts the Common Law Admission Test every year for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law courses across India. The CLAT exam is conducted for admission to 26 NLUs along with 60+ participating universities across India. Students who score over and above the qualifying cutoff can apply for LLB, BA LLB and LLM courses in the participating institutes. This year, the CLAT 2027 exam will be conducted on December 6, 2026. Year 2024 brought a major change in the CLAT exam pattern. The board reduced the total number of questions from 150 to 120. However, the total CLAT exam duration remained 120 minutes. The consortium releases the marking scheme inside the CLAT notification. As per the marking pattern, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer. Yes, the Consortium removed two Test Cities from the CLAT 2027. The removed test cities are Vellore and Tiruvarur. CLAT 2027 exam date is December 6.

Candidates are required to pay the CLAT Registration/Form fee as per their category. The Consortium prescribed the category-wise form fee. Without submitting the CLAT form fee, the registration will not be completed.
