SNAP 2025 result has been announced today and now is the time to start preparing for the admission round. Admission to SIU institutes for MBA programme is done through Group Exercise and Personal Interview. Earlier, Written Ability Test (WAT) was also conducted but it has been scrapped since 2024.
The Symbiosis International (Deemed) University’s constituent institutes will conduct SNAP selection round for 2026 admission in February and March. Read this blog to know what is SNAP GE-PI and how to prepare for it.

What is GE-PI?
GE-PI round is a method of evaluating MBA aspirants, flair and skills of being successful manager.
Group Exercise: Candidates are given a business situation or case to discuss and come up with solutions. The case is usually based on Marketing, Human Resource, Finance, and Operations. Candidates are grouped into batches of 8-10. Each batch is given 20 minutes to discuss the topic and present a solution. This is an assessment of team work.
Personal Interaction: This round is a face-to-face interaction with a panel comprising academics, teachers and industry experts. The questions range from ‘why MBA’ to field of interest, work experience hobbies to future plans.

Freshers should start Quantitative Aptitude preparation with NCERT Mathematics books of Class 9 and 10 for getting fundamental understanding of the topics and concepts. Once they have grasped the concepts of Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Geometry and other topics of Arithmetic, then move on to books with advanced level of Quantitative Aptitude topics. Arun Sharma’s books on preparation for Quantitative Aptitude (also VARC and DILR books) are highly recommended as they are exhaustive and contain test papers of various difficulty levels. With the help of Arun Sharma books, you can understand the concepts and learn application to different type of Mathematical problems. In addition to that, you should refer to other Quant books and sample papers.
A good attempt of around 80 per cent of questions with 85-90 per cent accuracy is considered good score in SNAP. The SNAP exam has 60 questions only, so the number of attempts considered good are 40-45. Candidates must aim to solve a good number of questions in every section of SNAP, so that their overall score is good and they have a better chance of getting selected for admission. If you do not clear the SNAP cut off may not be eligible for admission to MBA programmers offered by SIU institutes. Meeting the minimum cut off is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for the Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Thus, when preparing for SNAP, keep in mind a target score. The SNAP cut offs are lower for Reserved category candidates.
SNAP final merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate's entrance exam score, academic profile, work profile and GE-PI performance.
SNAP is one of the few MBA entrance exams which is easy in terms of difficulty level. It is much easier The number of questions, as well as the exam duration are less that than other MBA entrance exams. The type of questions asked in SNAP as also pretty straightforward.
Moreover, SNAP exam is held thrice for candidates to repeat attempts, which allows candidates to improve their score if they want to. The SNAP syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exam and there are no questions on Reading Comprehension or Data Sufficiency. This makes the SNAP exam much easier to crack than other exams.
Since 2020, the exam is conducted for only 60 minutes and the total number of questions asked is also 60. The first section of SNAP question paper is General English, the second section is Analytical & Logical Reasoning and the third section is Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.

While selection of candidates is based on SNAP cut offs and academics, final admission list is prepared on the basis of GE-PI participating candidates’ performance on the following parameters.

How to Prepare for SNAP GE-PI?
The best way to practice for GE is by reading about Marketing, Human Resource, Finance and Operations fields. Do mock practice of Group Exercise with your peers to be aware of challenges of working in a group and solutions. Keep the following in mind:
- Listen to every participant’s point of view
- Work as a team
- Do not try to impose your method
- Identify each group members strength
- Learn from each other
- Back up each other in completing the exercise
- Don’t try to hog the limelight or credit
- It is group exercise and each member’s contribution is critical

SNAP total marks is 60 so 40 to 45 marks can be considered a good score. It will convert into about 97-98 percentile. So, it the exam, candidates must aim to attempt 40 to 45 questions correctly.
Yes, SNAP is conducted in online mode at designated test centres. Candidates have to take the test on a computer system and use only the mouse cursor to key in the answers.
Yes, you should prepare for SNAP separately, especially with regard to sample question and mock test practice. Even if you don't cover the syllabus separately, practice SNAP mock test specifically.

Tips to Prepare for SNAP PI round
PI round is usually centered around the candidate’s academics, interests and career goals. While it is not possible to predict the types of questions that may be asked, it is possible to be prepared for any type of question. Here are a few tips that will help you in handling the SNAP PI round better:
- Be honest with your answers. If you don’t know it, say you’re not aware. Don’t beat around the bush to impress the panelists.
- Read your Curriculum Vitae (CV) and remember what all have you mentioned in it. The admission panel reviews every candidate’s CV thoroughly. You can be asked a question about anything.
- Be well aware of your previous work organization, profile, revenue numbers etc.
- Revise the topics that were a part of your degree course and brush up the knowledge of your area of work (in your previous job). Sometime random Math formula or Historic date can be asked.
- Read thoroughly about current business and economy related issues and the Union budget.

Yes, three months can be enough to prepare for SNAP, if you have appeared for it earlier or as simultaneously preparing for CAT, XAT and other exams. But if you are planning to appear for SNAP for the first time and not preparing for other MBA entrances, then you should devote atleast 6 months.
