XAT 2027 Syllabus: XLRI, Jamshedpur, releases XAT syllabus every year on its official website, xatonline.in. Candidates planning to appear for XAT 2027 exam must use the official XAT syllabus PDF to prepare for the exam. XLRI releases XAT 2027 syllabus PDF along with exam pattern. As per XAT 2027 exam pattern, the test will be divided into two parts. XAT part 1 comprises three sections, including

XAT 2027 Syllabus Overview

The XAT syllabus is divided into two distinct parts. Part 1 consists of three sections that are used to calculate a candidate’s percentile: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR), Decision Making (DM), and Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI). Part 2 consists of the General Knowledge (GK) section. The total duration for the exam is 180 minutes, with 170 minutes allocated to Part 1 and 10 minutes for Part 2.

Since Decision Making section is unique to XAT, study material for the same in not readily available. Thus the best source of preparation material for Decision Making section is XAT previous years’ question papers. This section has passages related to business situations. Candidates have to select the closest solution to the given situation from the list of four options. You have to make an informed decision regarding the decision which has be in favour of the larger good. This section essentially tests your ability to take objective decisions regarding various business situations and activities. Candidates can practice Decision Making questions from XAT question papers of previous years to know the types and difficulty level. In a way, this section is similar to Reading Comprehension and requires same skills as that.

XAT 2027 Syllabus for Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR)

The Decision Making section is a unique component of the XAT syllabus, consisting of about 21 questions. It measures a candidate's ability to analyse information and propose rational solutions to complex problems.

XAT 2027 Syllabus for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (QA & DI)

The QA & DI section in the XAT syllabus contains 28 questions. The Quantitative Ability portion is largely based on 10th-standard mathematics with an emphasis on application-oriented problems.

XAT 2027 Marking Scheme

The XAT syllabus and pattern follows a specific marking system. For Part 1, candidates receive +1 mark for every correct answer and incur a -0.25 penalty for every incorrect answer. There is also a penalty of -0.10 marks for every unattempted question after the first eight allowed skips. There is no negative marking for the GK section.

Preparation for the XAT syllabus for 2027 should ideally begin early, as the exam is tentatively scheduled for the first week of January 2027. Experts suggest that six to eight months of consistent study are necessary to handle the difficulty level and the diverse topics included in the XAT syllabus.

It might be difficult to get admission at XIME Kohchi with 88% in XAT. The institute accepts a 99.99% in XAT. However, these rules may change in the future; students are recommended to visit the Shiksha official page for the latest updates.
