Physics and Chemistry sections were of moderate to tough level of difficulty. Biology was the easiest section. According to experts, the NEET 2024 paper level was easier than last year. Hence, the expected NEET 2024 cutoff will be higher than last year. This article of Shiksha brings the in-depth NEET 2024 exam analysis in terms of NEET 2024 paper level, section-wise analysis, important topics and expected cutoff.

Q:   How to prepare for NEET exam and get a good rank?
A:
Here are some tips to help you prepare for NEET and improve your chances of getting a good rank: 1 Understand the Syllabus: Go through the NEET syllabus thoroughly and create a study plan accordingly. Divide the topics into manageable chunks and make sure you cover each one systematically. 2 Refer to Good Study Materials: Use the best study material available in the market, such as NCERT books, reference books, and online resources. 3 Take Mock Tests: Taking mock tests regularly will help you assess your strengths and weaknesses, and give you an idea of the exam pattern and the difficulty level of the questions. 4 Time Management: Time management is crucial when it comes to cracking NEET. Devote sufficient time to each section, and make sure you complete the entire paper within the given time frame. 5 Stay Healthy: Take care of your physical and mental health to ensure that you can stay focused and motivated during your preparation. Eat healthy food, exercise regularly, and take breaks to avoid burnout. 6 Seek Help When Needed: Don't hesitate to seek help from your teachers, mentors, or online communities if you are facing any difficulties in your preparation. Remember, consistent effort and practice are key to success in NEET. Keep practicing and stay focused on your goal, and you are sure to achieve a good rank. Good luck!
Q:   I take too much time in covering topics and it takes my whole day to complete revision. How do I proceed to prepare for NEET?
A:
Make a study schedule for NEET giving Biology Physics and Chemistry equal weight. Consistency is key; it is preferable to study for the same number of hours on both days rather than studying all night one day and resting the next. Take into account your optimal study times. Plan your schedule taking into account your strengths and how your energy changes throughout the day. Make a list of the topics you want to cover this week and work towards achieving your daily or weekly goals. If you are unable to stick to your schedule, identify the problem, make a strategy to address it, and try again. If any subject or topic requires more time than provided, or if a test is scheduled for the next day, your schedule should allow for flexibility. Be dependable. The most crucial ability you need to pass NEET is daily study. Get your work done on time. You shouldn't put anything off. Avoid using social media and other distractions as much as possible.
Q:   I am a PCB class 11th and preparing for NEET. Is Maths compulsory to qualify for NEET?
A:

Maths is not compulsory for NEET. You have numerical in Physics but you do not required Maths in Class 11 and Class 12 to solve those. If you studied Maths in class 10, then you can solve the numericals in Physics. Since NEET has Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects, it would be advantageous for you if you are a PCB student. Moreover, in case a candidate has studied PCM and not Biology, even as an additional subject, then he/she will not be eligible to appear for NEET exam. Hence, Maths is not compulsory, rather not required for NEET. But having basic mathematical knowledge and skills would be an added advantage.

Now let us take a look at the subject-wise NEET 2024 paper review.

NEET 2024 Analysis for Physics

The Physics section of NEET 2024 was the most difficult section. It comprised 45 questions and was dominated by questions from Electricity, Modern Physics and Mechanics together comprised 65 per cent of the Physics section. The questions were mostly formula-based. According to Anil Ahlawat, CEO, MTG Learning, this year, the Physics section consisted mainly of numerical problems that required a strong understanding of concepts and calculation skills. Questions covered a broad range of topics, with a notable emphasis on Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Optics and Modern Physics. The exam included direct MCQs, match the column, assertion and reasoning, and statement-based questions. Notably, 30 per cent of the questions were numerical based. The section covered the majority of the topics from the NEET syllabus and was NCERT-based

Q:   Which is the best reference book for biology for preparing NEET ?
A:
To prepare for the Biology section of NEET the best books or study materials are NCERT textbooks. According to experts and toppers, NCERT is the best source of preparation. Based on the contents of the book, NCERT would be sufficient for NEET Biology preparation. However, students may refer to additional books and study materials. Some of the books are as follows: 1. Trueman's Biology Vol 1 and 2. Objective Biology by Dinesh 3. Objective Biology by Ansari 4. Pradeep Publication's Biology 5. Biology by GR Bathla Publications 6. SC Verma Biology.
Q:   Which is the best objective book for the preparation of NEET?
A:
First, you have to go for all the NCERT Books, complete them without leaving a single topic. Practice questions twice or thrice and then you should go for the books given below. But you should be aware of how to go for these books, which one to start first. Visit: https://goo.gl/oFnCwG to know how to divide your time between these books. For Biology: Trueman's Biology ( Both Vol) Pradeep Publication For Chemistry Moderns ABC of Chemistry for class 11th and 12th Morrison and Boyd for Organic Chemistry Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon For Physics DC Pandey Objective Physics Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick, and Walker Problems in General Physics by I. E. Irodov Concepts of Physics by HC Verma
Q:   It is possible to crack NEET exam without coaching?
A:

I will not say, it is impossible. It is possible, but you have work very hard and must give your 200% effort to crack these competitive exams. In my opinion, it is better to take coaching for NEET exam. Coaching makes your exam preparation easier. Sometimes, if you get lots of doubt then you can get it cleared by your tutor who has got the subject knowledge.

Students get individual attention at coaching institutes and they focus on learning and development of students as per their requirement. Coaching centers also teach you a lot of tips, tricks and time management that help you to crack NEET exam. But, you have to be careful in choosing a right and resourceful coaching center, as there are many fraud coaching centers that works for money and not for delivering knowledge to the students.

NEET 2024 Analysis for Chemistry

The difficulty level of this section was easy to moderate. "The Chemistry section was a balanced mix of physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry. The questions ranged from straightforward factual questions based on direct concepts from the NCERT textbooks to more application-based questions. The highest weightage was given to 'Organic Chemistry: Some Basic Principles and Techniques. Out of 45 questions, nine were numerical-based, seven involved matching the following, and five were statement-based," said Ahlawat.

NEET 2024 Analysis for Biology

The Biology section was the easiest section in the question paper for NEET 2024. This section comprised 90 questions, which was segregated into questions from Botany and Zoology. The experts stated that the Botany section was tougher than that of the Zoology section. On the other hand, the Zoology section was mostly asked from the Class 12 syllabus. Maximum questions were asked from the Human Physiology topic and the Ecology section had the lowest weightage.

The Zoology section of NEET 2024 was easy to moderate. Nearly 30 per cent of the questions can be considered difficult. This section was mainly dominated by questions from Animal Husbandry, Biotechnology, Human Reproduction and Biomolecules. The Botany section of NEET 2024 was comparatively tougher than the Zoology section. Nearly 30 per cent of the questions can be considered easy. This section was mainly dominated by questions from Genetics, cell and cell cycle, diversity of life and structural organisation of plants.

Ahlawat said, "The questions spanned both Botany and Zoology, with an emphasis on Human Physiology, Genetics, and Plant Physiology. Unlike previous years, this year's question papers featured 6 figure-based and three direction-based questions, along with 30 'match the following' and 17 statement-based questions. As 30 per cent of the questions were of the 'match the following' type, some students found the paper a bit lengthy."

NEET 2024 Exam Review and Student Reactions

According to the NEET 2024 exam review by students, the exam was termed as easy to moderate. The majority of the students found Botany and Chemistry to be the toughest with Physics to be the easy section followed by Chemistry. Biology (Botany) though carried the highest weightage, had the toughest questions.
