The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the category-wise NEET cut off 2026 for General, OBC, EWS, SC, ST and PwD. Students belonging to Other Backwards Classes (OBC) need to obtain over and above the cutoff scores to get admission to UG medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS and etc. The NEET OBC cutoff 2026 has been determined based on several factors such as exam difficulty level, number of test takers and number of seats to be filled for OBC category in 2026-27. NEET 2026 Cutoff Percentile for OBC
As per the NEET qualifying criteria, the NEET cut-off percentile is 50% for General, 40% for SC, ST and OBC, and 45% for PwD- Gen and EWS candidates. The NEET qualifying cutoff percentile remains the same every year. OBC category must score more than 40 per cent of the test takers to clear the NEET UG 2026 exam. Candidates who obtain 40th percentile scores can participate in NEET counselling 2026.

A percentile refers to the comparison between the score of one candidate vis-a-vis the other test takers. It is the percentage of scores that a particular score surpassed. NTA has stated the formula to calculate the NEET percentile, which is given below:
100 multiplied by the Number of candidates with their raw score equal to/ less than the candidate divided by the Total number of candidates who appeared for NEET.
