The schools will be established in metro cities initially before expanding to Tier II to IV cities. The foundation aims to open 20 K-12 schools over the next three years, with the first institution set to launch in Lucknow in the 2025-26 academic year.
The Adani Foundation has announced to establish world-class schools across India with an investment of ₹2,000 crore. Partnering with GEMS Education, the foundation aims to open 20 K-12 schools over the next three years, with the first institution set to launch in Lucknow in the 2025-26 academic year.
As part of the initiative, 30% of the seats in these schools, following the CBSE curriculum, will be reserved for underprivileged and deserving students, ensuring access to quality education for all sections of society.
The Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of the Adani Group, envisions a scalable and sustainable education model that integrates global best practices and digital learning innovations. The initiative aligns with Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani’s philosophy of service-driven nation-building.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to making world-class education affordable and widely accessible,” Adani said. “By adopting global best practices and innovative digital learning through our partnership with GEMS Education, we aim to equip the next generation of change-makers to become socially responsible leaders in India.”
Sunny Varkey, Founder & Chairman of GEMS Education, emphasized the partnership’s impact, stating, “Our vision has always been to make quality education accessible to every learner, regardless of their socioeconomic background. The collaboration with the Adani Foundation will strengthen our reach and bring global educational expertise to learners and teachers in diverse regions of India.”
The schools will be established in metro cities initially before expanding to Tier II to IV cities. The collaboration also aims to develop research institutions focused on teacher training and educational innovation.
