IIT Bombay accepts UCEED scores for admisison to the B.Des course. The round 2 cutoff has been released. As per the cutoff list, the round 2 closing rank for B.Des was 14 for the General AII India category candidates. Durign the IIT Bombay UCEED cutoff 2023 the last round cutoff closed at 16, it means candidates scoring 50 in UCEED will not be eligible to get into IIT Bombay for B.Des admission. With a cutoff range of 50 to 80, candidates can choose IIT Hyderabad and IIT Guwahati for admission to the B.Des course.
IIT Bombay admission to BDes course includes various steps. Starting with registration to entrance exam, counselling and seat allotment. Before jumping to application, candidates must also check their eligibility. Any candidate who have completed Class 12 can apply for BDes course.
Step 1: Registration
Candidates need to apply online for BDes course with an application fee of INR 3,800 for open and INR 1,900 for reserved category. The common application form will be available through the IIT Bombay Admissions Portal.
Step 2: Selection
The selection to BDes course is based on UCEED rank. A merit list is prepared based on UCEED rank of the candidates.
Step 3: Counselling
Once shortlisted, candidates need to register for counselling. The seat are alloted based on the UCEED rank of the candidates. Aspirants must pay the fee to confirm their seat in the institute.
The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.
GATE results will be accepted by IIT Bombay for admission to the M.Tech programme. Candidates must secure at least 60% of the total marks (55% of the total marks for SC/ST/PwD category) in any of the following degrees: BE, B.Tech, B.Sc., Bachelor of Architecture and Bachelor of Planning, M.Sc., MCA, MBBS, M.Pharm, B.Pharma, BDS or a recognised qualification equivalent to BE or B.Tech.

IIT Bombay offers BDes through IDC School of Design at the UG level. It is a four-year course divided into eight semesters. Aspirants who have completed Class 12 or equivalent can apply for BDes course. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.
IIT Bombay MBA is a two-year course spread across eight terms. In the first year, students acquire knowledge on all the disciplines of management through 23 rigorous courses. All the academic courses need case studies, course projects and research by students, which provide exposure to the latest practices in the Industry. Students have the option of doing a one-month winter project at the end of first two terms.
The rigor of the academics in the first year culminates in the summer project at the end of the first year of the course. The two-month project done after the completion of all the foundational courses on Management, offers the student a chance to learn management practices through live projects in the industry.

IIT Bombay admission to MDes programme is entrance-based. Candidates have to follow the below steps to get a seat in the MDes programme:
Step 1: Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements have to pay an application fee to register for MDes course.
Step 2: IIT Bombay selects candidates for MDes programme based on CEED score. After qualifying CEED, the institute releases a category-wise merit list for each stream. Eligible candidates are required to appear for an IDC (written test) and an interview round.
Step 3: After the completion of the selection rounds, IITB releases a final merit list. Selected candidates will then have to appear for the verification of documents in order to complete the admission.

No, it’s not compulsory for regular scholars to stay in the hostel for studying at IIT Bombay. Also, not every student gets a hostel facility. - Rankings: NIRF has ranked IIT Bombay under the 'Management' Category for three consecutive years. In 2024, NIRF ranked the institute at #10 position among the top MBA institutes in India.
- Placements: IIT Bombay conducts placement drive every year. Students pursuing MBA can get placed in the top companies through the placement drive. The highest and average package offered during SJMSOM IIT Bombay MBA placements 2024 stood at INR 72 LPA and INR 28.01 LPA. Further, the placement rate recorded during SJMSOM MBA placement 2024 was 100%. A total of 48 companies visited the campus during SJMSOM IIT Bombay MBA placements 2024.

A minimum of Class 12 is required to apply for BDes course at IIT Bombay. Below is the detailed eligibility:
- Candidates should have been born on or after Oct 1, 1999., if belonging to Open/ EWS/ OBC-NCL Category and on or after October 1, 1994, if belonging to SC, ST or PwD Category.
- Aspirants should have obtained a rank in UCEED. A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
- Candidates need to pass all five subjects in Class 12 or equivalent. Those who have appeared for the first time in the qualifying exam in 2022 or earlier are not eligible.
IIT Bombay MSc cutoff 2024 has been released for Round 1, wherein, M.Sc.+ in Applied Geology is the most competitive specialsiation with a closing rank of 16 for the General AII India category students. The least competitive course is M.Sc.+ Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering with a cutoff rank of 643. So, candidates seeking admission to any of the MSc course must secure a rank upto 643 to be eligible for IIT Bombay.
IIT Bombay admissio to the MSc course is based on IIT JAM scores, followed by IIT JAM counselling process. Only candidates in the JAM 2024 Merit List based on JAM 2024 scorecard will be eligible to apply for admission.
IIT Bombay admissions are entrance-based. Candidates must also fulfil the requirements specified by the institute. The eligibility criteria varies course-wise at IIT Bombay. Check below the eligibility of top IIT Bombay courses:

IIT Bombay declared the results of UCEED 2025 on March 7, 2025. The results were announced for all candidates who appeared in the design entrance exam. However, merit ranks were released only for those who qualified Part A and were shortlisted. Part B answer booklets of candidates who failed to qualify Part A were not evaluated. The qualifying marks for Part A were released around the time of the result declaration.
The female candidate cutoff ranks for IIT Bombay varied between 296 and 13761 for BTech admission among the General category under the All India quota. The cutoff ranks vary for different rounds, courses, specialisations, categories, and genders. Candidates applying for BDes course at IIT Bombay have to pay a non-refundable application. There is fee concession for reserved category aspirants. Below is IIT Bombay BDes application fee:

Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
GATE is one of the entrance exams for PhD admission. However, aspirants can also get admission in PhD based on CSIR NET/ CEED/ UGC NET or written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview round for final selection. Along with GATE score, candidates also need to fulfil the eligibiltiy requirements. Aspirants must complete Bachelor or Masters or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Technology or master's or equivalent degree in Science or Arts/ Commerce with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for SC/ ST/ PwD category) for PhD admission.

For 2023, cut off was 2694 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 4647 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
IIT Bombay admission is based on JEE Advanced scores followed by the JoSAA Counselling. In order to be eligible for JoSAA Counselling candidates must appear for JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced.
IIT Bombay offers two-year MTech courses in 39 specialisations under 18 departments. Admission to the course is based on scores in GATE followed by COAP counselling. In addition, to be eligible to take the entrance test, candidates must also meet the minimum eligibility criteria. Further, aspirants can apply for GATE online by visiting the official website. Aspirants who have not qualified GATE can get admission through written test conducted by the institute. The shortlisted candidates are further called for a personal interview round.
IIT Bombay B.Tech admission is based on JEE Advanced Cutoff ranks. The IIT Bombay JEE Advanced Cutoff 2025 has been out for Round 1 seat allotment results, for admission to various B.Tech courses. The toughest course to get into the college for the General AI category candidates was Computer Science and Engineering, with the closing Cutoff rank of 66. The easiest course for the General AI category was Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, with the closing cutoff rank of 4119.
