IIT Kanpur released IIT JAM application form 2020 on September 4. Given below is the step by step procedure of how to fill IIT JAM 2020 application form.
IIT JAM application form 2020 is to be filled by aspirants online on the official website of the exam from September 4 onwards. The last date to fill JAM application form 2020 is October 8. Candidates are informed that they can fill the application form of the exam only through JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).
In order to fill IIT JAM application form, candidates need to first of all register on JOAPS website. Aspirants can successfully register for IIT JAM 2020 by providing details such as their name, mobile number, email address and password.

Steps to Fill IIT JAM Application Form 2020
Step 1: Visit the official website of IIT JAM 2020 and navigate to JOAPS.
Step 2: Upload documents like photograph, signature and other documents like category certificate (if applicable), PwD certificate (if applicable), etc.
Step 3: Pay the application fee through any of the electronic payment modes like net banking, credit card or debit card.
Step 4: Check the status of the application form- Received, Under scrutiny, Accepted, Defect status, Status after rectification, Rejected with valid reasons, etc.
Step 5: Download IIT JAM application form
Step 6: Take a clear print of JAM application form 2020.
Candidates need to note that no hard copy of documents need to be sent to the organising institute, IIT Kanpur. All the required documents need to be uploaded on the official website of IIT JAM 2020 only.
Information to be Filled in IIT JAM Application Form 2020
Candidates need to fill the below mentioned information in their JAM 2020 application form:
- Personal information like name, date of birth, mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.
- Address for communication including PIN code
- Details of the qualifying degree
- Name of college with address and PIN code
- Name of JAM paper
- Choice of JAM examination cities
- Scanned photograph
- Scanned signature
- Scanned copy of the Category (SC/ST) Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
- Scanned copy of PwD Certificate (if applicable) in PDF format
- Details of the valid Identity Document (ID) which the candidate will carry to the exam hall
- Details of net-banking/debit card/credit card for fee payment
Note: Candidates need to ensure that the name entered by them in their JAM registration form is exactly the same as that mentioned on their qualifying degree certificate. This is important because when JAM results are declared then the JAM 2020 score card will mention the name of the candidate exactly as is mentioned in the application form. Also, while filling the name in the application form candidates should not prefix titles such as Mr/Shri/Dr/Mrs/Smt, etc.
Documents Required for IIT JAM 2020 Application Form
Aspirants need to upload scanned copy of their photograph as well as signature with their IIT JAM 2020 application form.
Photograph: The photograph should be in colour and taken after August 1, 2019. Candidates are informed that photographs taken by a mobile phone or any self-composed portraits may lead to rejection of the JAM application form. Photographs should be taken in a professional studio only. The file size for the document should be within 5 KB to 200 KB.

Signature: For IIT JAM application form, candidates need to first draw a rectangular box of 2 cm height and 7 cm width on a white paper. Next, aspirants need to sign in this box using a black or dark blue ink pen. The file size for the document should be within 5 KB to 100 KB.
Candidates are informed that if they place their signature in capital letters or use just initials then their application may stand cancelled.
