CUET PG MCA Syllabus 2026 will be released by the National Testing Agency for all domain subjects, tentatively in the first week of January 2026. Aspiring candidates who wish to pursue the MCA programme can find the domain-wise syllabus for the CUET PG exam on the official website.

The exam officials had changed the CUET PG MCA syllabus 2025 for the candidates preparing for the Computer Science and Information Technology master's degree programme. For the academic session 2025-2026, the exam officials have added a few more topics in Computer subjects like computer networks, routing algorithms, DNS, Database Management Systems and Virtual systems.

 The CUET PG syllabus for MCA (PGQP26) is divided into three broad units, namely- Thinking and Decision Making Skills, Mathematics and Computers. CUET PG MCA Syllabus 2026

As per the CUET PG exam pattern, candidates have to answer as many as 100 questions. Out of the total questions, 25 questions are common, irrespective of the stream/domain. The remaining 75 questions are based on domain-specific knowledge. Therefore, Section B of the CUET PG MCA exam will have 75 questions from the three units as per the MCA syllabus.

·       Probability and Statistics: Basic concepts of probability theory, Averages, Dependent and independent events, frequency distributions, measures of central tendencies and dispersions.

·       Algebra: Fundamental operations in algebra, expansions, factorization, simultaneous linear /quadratic equations, indices, logarithms, arithmetic, geometric and harmonic progressions, determinants and matrices.

·       Coordinate Geometry: Rectangular Cartesian coordinates, distance formulae, equation of a line, and intersection of lines, pair of straight lines, equations of a circle, parabola, ellipse and hyperbola.

·       Calculus: Limit of functions, continuous function, differentiation of function, tangents and normals, simple examples of maxima and minima. Integration of functions by parts, by substitution and by partial fraction, definite integrals, applications of definite integrals to areas.

·       Vectors: Position vector, addition and subtraction of vectors, scalar and vector products and their applications to simple geometrical problems and mechanics.

·       Trigonometry: Simple identities, trigonometric equations, properties of triangles, solution of triangles, heights and distances, general solutions of trigonometric equations.

Computer Awareness

·       Computer Basics: Organisation of a computer, Central Processing Unit (CPU), structure of instructions in CPU, input/output devices, computer memory, and back-up devices.

·       Data Representation: Representation of characters, integers and fractions, binary and hexadecimal representations, binary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, simple arithmetic and two’s complement arithmetic, floating point representation of numbers, Boolean algebra, truth tables, Venn diagrams.

Check out the steps to selct the university programme selection in CUET PG application process:

Step 1: After adding the exam centre city preferences, candidates will then have to select the University/Programme selection.

Step 2: In this section, candidates are required to select the university name first and then select the programme name. Likewise, candidates can select up to four universities and its allied programmes offered. After adding the university programme choices, save the details and move on to the next sections.

Step 3: In this section, candidates need to add the test details. Add the test paper subject code from the drop-down options mentioned in the window. After adding all the respective test paper codes of the university programme list which was selected in the previous step, save the details.

Q:   How many subjects can be opted in CUET PG while filling the application form?

CUET PG 2026 examination will be scheduled in March 2026. Aspirants preparing for the CUET PG exam could fill the online application form from December 14 to January 23, 2026. While filling up the CUET PG online application form, test taker can select only one subject in one slot of the examination day. However, from the previous year academic year, they were able to choose a maximum of 20 test paper codes in all.

Before choosing multiple subjects for the examination, candidates are advised to check the minimum education eligibility criteria for the particular course they have applied for. Also, check the university-specific subject criteria for the subject a candidate wants to appear for.

Q:   What is the difference between CUET PG MBA and CAT exam?

CUET MBA syllabus and CAT syllabus are both designed to assess aptitude for management studies.

CUET PG MBA: This exam covers a wider range of topics, including general knowledge, current affairs etc.

CAT:  It is designed to assess a student problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to handle complex data.

NTA which is known as National Testing Agency is the examination conducting body of CUET PG examination. The Role of NTA is confined to registration of candidates, conduct of the test, hosting of answer key, inviting challenges, finalising Answer Keys, preparing and declaring result and hosting Score Card. Merit list will be prepared by participating Universities/ organisations. Universities may conduct their individual counselling on the basis of the score card of CUET (PG)-2023 provided by NTA.

The CUET PG exam difficulty level is depicted in the range of moderate to high. CUET PG examination is conducted into various streams and master's subjects. However, the exam difficulty level varies from subject to subject. Here are some factors upon which the CUET PG examination level depends:

First and foremost, the exam difficulty level depends on the preparation done by the appearing candidates. The level of questions asked by the exam authority during the examination. Some questions asked in the examination are highly miscellaneous, which increases the difficulty level of the question paper. Difficulty level factors also depend upon the number of seats the participating university is offering, or whether the number of applicants for the particular subjects is high. Difficulty level also depends on the demand for the course among the students across the country.
