Dairy Science courses are offered in a limited number of colleges in India. Among these colleges, ICAR AIEEA is the only entrance exam score preferred for admissions to the UG and PG level courses. However, some colleges also conduct CUET, CUET-PG, LPU NEST, etc., exams.

No, you cannot pursue a Dairy Science course without having Biology as a core subject in Class 12. Dairy Science course is a combination of Biology, Chemistry, Physics,  Engineering, and Economics that focuses on dairy production and product development.

Dairy Science courses available at various levels, thus the eligibility criteria also vary depending on the course level. Here is a general idea of eligibility requirements of Dairy Science courses:

UG
  • Class 12 in the Science stream with PCB subjects,
  • A minimum of 50% aggregate score from a recognised board.
PG
  • Bachelor's degree in BSc Dairy Science or any relevant discipline,
  • 60% aggregate score or above from a recognised university.
Doctorate
  • Master's degree in MSc Dairy Science or any relevant discipline,
Diploma
  • Class 12 in the Science stream with PCB subjects,
  • A minimum of 50% aggregate score from a recognised board.
