NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, IIT Delhi ranks #2 under the 'Engineering' category.

The GATE 2026 registrations are ongoing for admission to ME/MTech courses. By Oct 9, 2025, aspirants can complete their online registration process with the late fee payment. The GATE 2026 exam dates are Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.

The JEE Main 2026 registration process for the first session for IIT Delhi admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses is expected to begin in Nov 2025.
The UCEED 2026 registration portal is open for IIT Delhi admission to the B.Des course. With the regular fee, the deadline to register is Oct 31, 2025. Further, the UCEED Exam 2026 will be conducted on Jan 18, 2026.
The IIT JAM 2026 registration has now begun for admission to the MSc course. The last date to register is tentatively Oct 12, 2025. Furthermore, the exam will be held on Feb 15, 2026.

I am decently satisfied with the campus life.

Placements: 80% of students in Production and Industrial Engineering are placed during the 2024 placement season. The average package during placements is around 20 to 25 LPA. Students are placed in both core and non-core job roles, such as consultancy, finance, product management, etc.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure available on the campus are quite good. We have Wi-Fi all over the buildings. Almost every classroom and lab has A.C. The facilities provided to us in the hostels are also good. The mess food is decent, and we also have pretty good sports equipment.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They teach us pretty well. The course curriculum also seems relevant to the industry. Semester exams are quite hectic, considering we have quizzes/exams every month during the semester. But, these exams are quite manageable.

I am absolutely satisfied because of the quality of food and good placements.

Placements: About 85% of students get placed. The highest package is 2 crores per annum, and the lowest package is 12 LPA. The average package is 45 LPA. Recruit companies for our course are consultancies, construction companies, manufacturing firms, etc. More than 85% of students got internships in various companies like Air India, Microsoft, Texas Instruments, and Goldman Sachs. Top roles like energy and environment technocrat, energy and environment engineer, etc., are offered here.

Infrastructure: Everything is good. It has full Wi-Fi and various labs. The quality of food is just good. The environmental engineering lab is equipped for analyzing chemical and microbiological contaminants in various media like air, water, wastewater, and soil. It houses advanced instruments such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), liquid chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

Faculty: Teachers are well-experienced and they provide quality teaching. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. Semester exams in this college are not hard. The pass percentage is 80%. They are highly qualified and knowledgeable. IIT Delhi generally attracts experienced and knowledgeable faculty members who are experts in their fields. They are passionate about teaching. Many students find the faculty's passion for teaching to be a positive aspect. Professors are reported to be helpful throughout the course duration.

Other: That was the best course I was getting. I am trying to change course. Initially, events were good. The fest was boring, tbh. Regarding campus crowd, you will find many people of different types. Just choose the correct peer group. Campus surroundings (air is polluted). Scholarship is only for those with income less than 5 Lacs. Extracurricular activities are only for CV. If you are not good, you won't be selected.

Top recruiters are Bajaj, Jaguar Land Rover Limited, Godrej Properties, and Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., Hero MotoCorp Limited, Honda R&D, Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Bharat Petroleum Limited, etc.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is always on and offers high-speed data nonstop. New labs are well-maintained. Classrooms are also clean, and every room has AC, light, a projector, etc. Medical facilities are free of cost. Mess food is average. Many hostels have night canteens, and they offer tasty food. Sports complexes are well-maintained and spacious for students to play in.

Faculty: Teachers are very knowledgeable in their respective domains. Some can teach very nicely, while others are not. It makes students industry-ready. Max's semesters were hectic and very demanding. As time passed, we were able to manage. The pass percentage is 30%.

Placements: 35% of students are placed in this course. Student who got highest package in my course is 25 LPA, and lowest package is 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies are ISRO, DRDO, and BARC, while in private sector, companies like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Accenture, Nvidia, and Infosys. Almost 55% of students got internships at these companies. Top roles offered are research and development scientist, medical physicist, data scientist, and various engineering roles in fields like electronics.

Infrastructure: Infrastructure of college is well planned and developed. Whole campus is covered with Wi-Fi, and classrooms have smart boards. Labs are updated with latest technology physics instruments. Food available in mess and canteen is freshly prepared and delivered in well-packed packaging. Campus also has medical facilities and also organises an annual sports meet.

Faculty: Teachers are also disciplined and hardworking because they are regular in their lectures and always teach with sincerity. Teaching quality is excellence. Curriculum is relevant and makes students ready for industrial works. Semester exams are average, and passing criteria are to score 40% marks in each subject.

Other: I have gone for this course because I want to develop strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and mathematical proficiency. Best thing about this course is that it encourages you to explore unexplored things. Campus organises fests and extracurricular activities. Campus also provides scholarships based on students' marks.

Infrastructure: IIT Delhi's hostel infrastructure is in dire need of an upgrade. Many of the hostels are over 60 years old, and have seen minimal renovation or upgrades in recent years. A modern update would greatly improve the overall living experience. The IITD hospital also has its limitations, with a shortage of well-qualified doctors and outdated facilities. This can make it challenging for students to receive quality medical care on campus. On a positive note, the library stands out as a valuable resource, offering a well-organized, quiet space for study, with a wide range of academic resources and materials that effectively support the academic needs of students.

Faculty: IIT Delhi's Textile Engineering department has highly qualified, knowledgeable, and committed professors. They make complex topics understandable and help students develop technical skills and analytical thinking. However, the administration, including certain deans and the academic body, can be difficult to deal with. Their strict policies and rigid grading practices can be stressful and affect students' CGPA outcome. IIT Delhi Placements 2025

Indian Institute of Technology Delhi offers placement assistance to students. Each year the institute holds a placement drive for students and is visited by top companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Texas Instruments etc.

At end of IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25, a total of 1,200 offers were made and 1,150 students were placed. In addition, more than 50 international offers were made during IIT Delhi Phase 1 placements 2024-25. International offers came from more than 15 organisations across multiple global regions including Netherlands, Japan, UAE, South Korea, Taiwan, United States and United Kingdom.

IIT Delhi offers several scholarships both at the UG and PG levels which are based on the financial situation of the students or their academic performances. A programme-wise split of IIT Delhi scholarships are mentioned in the table given below:

IIT Delhi has a technologically advanced campus spread across 320 acres of land. The premier institute has one of the best campuses in India state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern amenities, and research laboratories. A few of the infrastructural USPs offered by IIT Delhi are discussed below:

Library: The IIT Delhi library system comprises a central library and departmental libraries. The library houses a collection of 1.94 lakh books, 1.03 bound volumes of journals, over 26,000 standards, and 2,200+ microfilms among others. It has also incorporated video cassettes, CDs, and online electronic journals.
Cafeteria: IIT Delhi has a cafeteria near the academic buildings and a South Indian food court (Southy) in the boys' hostel area.
Hostel: IIT Delhi has a total number of 14 hostels, comprising 11 for boys and three for girls.
Sports complex: IIT Delhi is known for its sports and hence it offers several practicing courts to the students, including badminton, tennis, volleyball, and basketball courts, cricket, and football grounds, athletic tracks, a swimming pool, weightlifting and taekwondo auditoriums, among others.
