NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, NIT Rourkela ranks #13 under the category 'Engineering'.

NIT Rourkela has released selection list of candidates (Waiting List-2) for admission to MBA for session 2025-2027.
The MAT 2026 Feb session registration is open. For PBT mode, the last date to register is Feb 23, 2026, and the test is scheduled for Mar 1, 2026. Further, for CBT mode, the registration closes on Mar 2, 2026, and the test will be held on Mar 8, 2026.
The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
The CMAT 2026 exam date for admission to MBA/PGDM/MMS courses is Jan 25, 2026, and the result can be expected in Feb 2026.
The CSAB Special Counselling 2025 Round 3 has concluded with the announcement of the seat allotment results for admission to BE/BTech courses.

NIT Rourkela Admission Process and Important Dates 2025

The modes of National Institute of Technology Rourkela course admissions are online and offline. NIT Rourkela admission process to the courses offered at the institute is either entrance-based (for example, JEE Mains/ GATE/ IIT JAM) or based on merit. NIT Rourkela MTech admission is provided based on a minimum aggregate of 75% secured in Class 12, along with 50% to 60% in graduation.

In addition to this, candidates must secure a valid score in accepted entrance exams such as OJEE, GATE, JEE Main or equivalent for the final NIT Rourkela admission process.
