He says, “Several opportunities were put forth to learn and improve myself in my favorite domains and this helped me gain a lot of hands-on experience, which was very much useful during my placement procedures. I sincerely thank the University for all the encouragement they have given me and the freedom to pursue my own interests apart from academics”.
Praising the Career Development Center at SRM, another student, Anish Samir Mashankar said, “The Career Development Center trained us well right from the first year to face the challenges of placement, starting from acing the aptitude exam to excelling the interview process. SRM’s Study Abroad Program is much liked by students. According to Pranav Reddy, an Alumni of SRM, this program is the best ever in a country like India. He says, “ The SAP gave a chance for several students to study a semester in MIT, Harvard, UC-Davis etc. They have recently had MoUs with several other universities. Twining programs, Dual degree programs with institutions like Carnegie Mellon etc. What else do you want from a University which is much more easier to get in, than IITs, providing you an opportunity to study a semester in MIT”.
8. Research Facilities:
According to Reddy, if a student has a good idea about his or her research area, then college is always ready to fund any amount for it. He says, " Where do you think all the money goes which it gets from each student? Not just for buildings, they do fund awesome projects. During my undergrad, SRM built a nanosatellite and launched it from ISRO space station in Sriharikota. It spent crores on this project and a number of students are well placed and in premium institutions with this research experience. Few students went to NASA to participate in competitions. And college most of the time, funds at least half of the money spent, if a student goes abroad for presenting a paper".
