HPCET 2025: Seat Allotment (Round 1 SOON), Counselling, Dates, Admission Process

Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test (HPCET) is organized by Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) to provide BTech/BPharm/BHMCT & BSc/MTech/MPharm/MSc/MBA/BBA/MCA/BCA admissions into the participating institutes of the state. HPCET is held offline i.e., as a pen-and-paper-based test at various exam centres. BTech admissions are also offered based on JEE Main and 12th standard qualifying examination scores.

The important highlights of HPCET 2025 can be checked from the table given below. 

Qualified candidates can now participate in the HPCET 2025 counselling. During the HPCET counselling registration process, the candidates had to provide their personal and academic information. Candidates also had to upload their scanned documents. The choice filling editing facility was open until July 5, 2025. The authorities will announce the HPCET 2025 seat allotment result online soon for Round 1. Allotment of seats will be done based on the candidate's merit, preferences, category and seat availability. The authorities will also accept admissions based on JEE Main scores for Round 1 counselling. The allotted candidates will have to confirm their admission at their respective institutes by paying the required fee and verifying their documents.

HPCET 2025 result has been released online. The scores and ranks obtained in the entrance examination are available in the HPCET result 2025. No other mode has been used to announce the HPCET 2025 scores. The merit list for admission will be prepared based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance examination/qualifying examination. The authorities will not accept requests to review the obtained scores.

HPCET 2025 syllabus is now available online. The list of subjects, units and topics to be studied for the entrance examination can be checked through the HPCET syllabus 2025. While preparing for the exam, the candidates are advised to carefully check the HPCET syllabus so that they can prepare their study strategy. As per the syllabus of HPCET 2025, the subjects to be studied for the entrance exam are Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

HPCET 2025 application form was available online for all eligible candidates. No other mode of application was accepted. While filling out the application form, the candidates had to provide the required personal, academic and contact details. Next, the candidates had to select their exam centres in order of preference, upload scanned documents and pay the application fee. The candidates had to pay the HPCET 2025 application fee online, i.e., through net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI. After the HPCET 2025 application form last date, no requests for registration were accepted.

HPCET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates can take a look at the eligibility criteria required for admission to BTech programmes through HPCET. Before HPCET 2025 registration, the candidates were advised to check the official eligibility criteria carefully. Those candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria will not be considered for admission into the participating institutes.

BTech (Direct): The candidate must have passed class 12th or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

Basic admission criteria for BTech programmes:

• In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of JEE (Main) and HPCET, the remaining seats will be filled up based on the merit of the 12th standard examination conducted by a recognized Board or University.
• The number of seats remaining vacant after taking admission based on each test/examination will be shifted and filled based on the next text/examination in continuous order.

Note: The % indicates the marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance test/10+2 examination out of the total marks assigned to the entrance test/examination.

The official HPCET 2025 admit card has been released. To access the HPCET admit card 2025, the candidates will have to log in using the required credentials. Through the admit card of HPCET 2025, the candidates will be able to check their allotted exam centre, date, timings, guidelines and more. At the HPCET 2025 exam centre, the candidates had to present their admit card and a valid identity proof. Without the HPCET 2025 hall ticket, the candidates were not allowed to attempt the exam.
