To register for the UCEED 2026 Counselling, candidates need to fill the B.Des Application for Counselling. There is a common application form for all the IITs. The application portal was active from March 14, 2026 (Saturday) till April 10, 2026 (Friday), 5:30 PM.
No, you cannot participate if you have not been given a merit rank in the UCEED 2026.
Counseling process for UCEED 2026 will be conducted as a Joint Seat Allotment process. To participate in the counseling, the candidate must have qualified for the UCEED 2026 and assigned a merit rank in the UCEED exam. If the candidate doesn't have a merit rank, he or she is not eligible to participate the counseling-cum-seat allotment process.
UCEED 2026 seat-acceptance fee for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates is INR 60,000. SC, ST, and PwD candidates only need to pay INR 15,000. The fee will have to be paid within the schedule notified by IIT Bombay. If the candidate fails to make the payment within the given deadline, then the allotment will be cancelled. Also, the seat vacated in such cases will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit.
UCEED 2026 Exam Date
UCEED 2026 exam was conducted on January 18, 2026. The scores of the UCEED 2026 exam will be considered for admission to the B.Des courses offered by the UCEED participating colleges.
UCEED 2026 exam has two parts: 1) The computer-based Part A, which will be 1 hour long and include NAT, MCQ, and MSQ-type questions; 2) Part B will include two subjective-type questions and will be 2 hours long. Note that Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A.

UCEED 2026 application form is to be filled by candidates seeking admission to the B. Des programme. Also, UCEED 2026 scores are not considered for admission to the M.Des programme. So, the candidates must instead fill out the application form for CEED 2026. Note that both the CEED and UCEED exams are conducted by IIT Bombay.

Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED 2026 if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. As per the information given in the UCEED 2026 information brochure, 10% of seats in every course will be reserved for Gen-EWS category.

UCEED 2026 Result
UCEED results were declared on the official website of the exam. Candidates can view their UCEED results by using their registered email ID and password. UCEED Result was declared on March 06, 2026. The scorecard is made available from March 10, 2026.
UCEED Part A marks will be displayed for all candidates who gave the entrance test and UCEED Part B, Total Score, and Merit Rank (s) will be displayed only for candidates who have qualified UCEED 2026 exam.

UCEED Part B question paper is not evaluated unless the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A are shortlisted and are allocated a merit rank. If you have biology as a subject in 10+2, then you can apply for B.Des programme at IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
To apply at IIITDM, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology subjects in 10+2.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
