Q. First of all, congratulations on your result. What was your preparation strategy to get good marks in JEE Main 2021?

Anant: My coaching, Allen Career Institute helped me devise a good strategy for the exam. Before the exam, I revised the entire JEE main syllabus of all three subjects and tried to solve past year question papers to avoid silly mistakes during the exam. I prepared for JEE Advanced throughout the year and focussed on JEE Main preparation about a month ago. I also attempted a good number of mock tests to be familiar with the exam pattern.

Q. How did your parents help in the JEE Main 2021 preparation?

Anant: My parents were very supportive in JEE Main 2021 preparation. My parents never pressurised me for studies or exam preparation. However, they always encouraged me whenever I felt a little nervous or bored due to my studies. They maintained a good environment at home so that I can study well and achieve a good result.

Q. Since when you have started preparing for the JEE Main?

Anant: I have started my preparation for JEE Main from class 8 but at that time my focus was more on Olympiad. The preparation for Olympiad helped me to have a good understanding of the concepts of all three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. I also tried to solve the questions of JEE Main and Advanced level.

Q. How much you used to study daily? How did you keep yourself fit during the study period?

Anant: I used to study around 10 hours a day for exam preparation. One thing I used to do is not to study a subject for more than two hours. After that, I used to take a small break and start studying the other subject. To keep myself fit I used to walk minimum of 45 minutes daily in the evening. It also helped me relax and energised my brain for the next day studies.

Q. What is your preparation strategy for JEE Advanced 2021?

Anant: I need to focus more on the preparation of Mathematics for JEE advanced 2021. There is a big difference between the levels of questions asked in Advanced and JEE Main. I also feel that my preparation for JEE Advanced Mathematics is not up to the mark. Simultaneously, I will also prepare the other two subjects.

Q. What will be your preferred branch and institute on qualifying for the JEE Advanced 2020?

Anant: I am hoping for a good rank in JEE Advanced. My most preferred branch will be Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay.

Congratulations on your success in JEE Main, may all your dreams come true.

Honestly, going for CSE at Chandigarh University with your score sounds like a solid choice. I'm saying this because CU has become a hub for tech placements and internships, and the environment is pretty competitive in a good way. Your 88 percentile in JEE Main could also land you a scholarship, whi
