Commonly asked questions
Q:   Which college will I get with 97.5 percentile in MH CET?
A:

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.

Q:   I scored 120 in MHT CET. Which college will I get? I belong to the general category.
A:

With 120 marks in MHT-CET (General category), you are unlikely to get top colleges/branches (like CSE/IT in COEP, VJTI) but can aim for mid-tier private/university-affiliated colleges in less competitive branches.

Q:   Where can I check the round-wise cutoff for all rounds of MHT CET counseling?
A:

The round-wise cutoff ranks for MHT CET counselling can be checked on the counselling website at fe2026.mahacet.org. The cutoff for each round for all the participating institutes and branch is made available on the MHT CET portal. Candidates can also check MHT CET cutoff for all participating colleges on the Shiksha page.

Q:   What is the minimum cutoff required for admission to M.Tech at COEP?
A:

For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

Students should note that the above mentioned percentile is only valid for the General HS category in the last round. Other rounds and categories will have different minimum qualifying percentiles. To know more, students can click here

VJTI Spot Round 2026: 70 Vacant Seats Available

The latest provisional vacancy position shows 70 vacant seats available through the VJTI Institute Level Spot/ACAP admission process. These are seats remaining available after the regular CAP admission process. Candidates should note that the 70-seat figure represents the vacancy position at the relevant stage and does not mean that all 70 seats will remain available throughout the spot round. The vacancy position can change during counselling as candidates accept seats, cancel admissions or move to another institute. VJTI has specifically addressed such situations in its notification for the 2026-27 spot admission process.

VJTI Spot Round 2026: How Will Admission Be Conducted?

VJTI’s Institute Level Spot/ACAP Round is different from the regular Maharashtra CET Cell CAP rounds. The CAP process is conducted centrally, while the institute-level spot round is conducted by VJTI for seats remaining vacant after CAP. Candidates participating in the spot round will be considered according to the applicable merit and admission rules. The seat will be offered depending on the candidate’s merit, category and vacancy available at the time of allotment. Candidates should therefore not assume that inclusion in the provisional merit list guarantees a seat at VJTI.

VJTI Spot Round 2026: Important Update on Round 2

VJTI has issued a specific clarification regarding seats that become vacant during Round 1. According to the institute’s notification, if a candidate who has already secured admission at VJTI cancels their admission after getting a seat at another institute, the resulting vacancy will not be filled during the Round 1 process scheduled for September 11 and 12. Instead, these seats will be considered for Round 2 on September 13, 2026, subject to the applicable rules and stages. This means candidates who do not get a seat in Round 1 should continue to monitor the VJTI admission process because additional vacancies may become available in the second round.

VJTI Spot Admission 2026: Who Can Participate?

The institute-level spot round is meant for eligible candidates seeking admission against vacancies remaining after the CAP process. Candidates should ensure that they satisfy the applicable eligibility conditions prescribed for First Year BTech admission and have completed the VJTI spot-round application process within the notified deadline. The institute’s admission page states that VJTI admissions are merit-based and conducted according to the Maharashtra Government and Directorate of Technical Education guidelines.

Candidates should also note that there is no guarantee of admission merely because they have applied for the spot round. The final allotment depends on merit and the seats available when the candidate is considered.

VJTI Spot Round 2026 Merit List

VJTI is scheduled to publish the provisional merit list on September 10, 2026. The merit list is important because candidates will be called for the institute-level admission process according to the applicable merit and stages. Candidates should check:

  • Name

  • VJTI merit number

  • Application details

  • Category

  • Entrance examination details

  • Any other information mentioned in the merit list

VJTI Spot Admission 2026: What Happens During Counselling?

The institute-level spot admission process generally involves verification of candidate details and documents, calling candidates according to merit, and allotting seats based on the vacancies available at that point. Candidates should therefore:

  1. Check the VJTI provisional merit list.

  2. Note their merit position.

  3. Check the latest vacant seat matrix.

  4. Report as per VJTI’s notified schedule.

  5. Carry the required original documents.

  6. Complete document verification.

  7. Wait for their turn according to merit.

  8. Check the branches available when their turn is called.

  9. Complete the admission formalities if a seat is allotted.

  10. Candidates should not leave the venue or process before the institute announces the conclusion of the relevant round, unless VJTI’s instructions specifically permit them to do so.

It is important to check the MH CET 3-year LLB marks versus percentile. This is because college admissions are based strictly on your final percentile rank rather than your raw score.

Sorry, but according to me with 96.09 percentile in MHT-CET through PCB, you cannot get admission to ICT for B.Tech Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. The cuttoff competitively closes around 99.0 to 99.9 percentile.
