The category-wise merit list will only be prepared based on the marks secured in the GATE 2025 exam. If two or more candidates have secured the same GATE 2025 scores, then their relative merit shall be determined by their age, with a higher-age candidate placed in a higher position.
No, a GATE score of 40 marks is relatively low for IITs and popular branches like CSE, ME, EE, and ME. The score is considered below average. However, if you score around 40 marks in GATE, you can opt for a branch or institution with less competition. Otherwise, you can attempt GATE next year with more practice and revision.

Well,
As such, the GATE authorities have not mentioned anything regarding the black and white or colour printout of the GATE admit card to be carried or not. But it is better to carry a colour printout of the hall ticket to the exam centre Also, the admit card of GATE must be in A4 size format.

Passing marks in GATE exam is different for all 30 papers. The GATE qualifying mark for PSUs recruitment is also different. Candidates appearing in any GATE paper have to obtain the minimum mark in order to be declared qualified for the exam. Only qualified candidates are considered for admission to MTech/MSc/PhD programs and the MHRD scholarship. Candidates can check the previous year GATE cutoff for various papers on the Shiksha page or from the GATE official website.
