The Indian Maritime University is conducting the centralized, common online IMU CET counselling for all qualifiers. Individual institutional allotment windows are opened for university campuses and affiliated centers on a unified portal. For undergraduate professional maritime admissions, qualified candidates must apply through the IMU central allocation program.

Some of the colleges for admissions through IMU CET scores are - IMU Chennai Campus, IMU Mumbai Port Campus, Tolani Maritime Institute (TMI), HIMT College, and Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies (SIMS). The typical national-level counseling procedure is outlined below:

  • Qualified candidates must manually monitor and log into the common IMU portal to upload their mandatory DG Shipping medical fitness certificates.

  • Candidates select and lock in their choices of maritime streams, specific vessels engineering lines, and campus choices based on personal priorities.

  • Regional systems allot seats to individuals using their calculated IMU CET national merit ranks alongside statutory category reservation matrices.

IMU CET 2026 Cutoffs

There are two main categories under the IMU CET cutoff evaluation system:

  • Qualifying cutoff: The minimum baseline scores needed within Class 12 marks (60% aggregate in PCM, 50% in English) to pass the eligibility framework and become eligible for ranking.

  • Admission cutoff: The structural closing ranks or score bounds specified by individual colleges and universities to filter seat allocations during their independent counseling procedures.

IMU CET 2026 Admission Cutoff

As IMU CET applies strictly to Central Maritime Colleges, national campuses, and DG Shipping partner institutions rather than traditional IIT/NIT engineering branches, candidate score closures are directly governed by the central merit lists and academy cutoffs based on total rank weightage. Central engineering institutes require JEE Advanced marks instead.
